Could the trading post archetype work in legacy?

Could the trading post archetype work in legacy? I know it had some success in standard, and I really enjoyed playing it due to how amazing it was preboard (except against pod decks with red. Fuck you zealous conscripts, you ruined my summer). The deck would definitely have to abuse the graveyard somehow, since I ran a fairly successful trading post deck that utilized the graveyard more than most trading post decks. So considering the nature of trading post and it's type of control, what are the possibilities for it in legacy?

I don't think it's playable in legacy.
The life gain is just bad, you'll be dead before it matters against the fast decks, and it will never matter against the slow decks.
The goats are pretty bad too, 0/1 vanilla creatures are not what you want when you have the 4 mana available for post.
The sac a creature return an artifact has potential, being able to trade a useless creature for a card you need to re-use, or one you milled/dumped isn't that bad, but there are better ways to get cards from your grave back to your hand, Eternal witness, regrowth, even Elvish Cache can grab anything in your grave, Academy ruins brings back artifacts without needing to invest 4 mana in a post.
Sacrificing an artifact to draw is... nice? I guess, if it's a dead card anyway, then it's better than nothing, but you have much better and cheaper ways to see more cards in this format.

So, basically, assuming you ramp into it with a sol land deck or mox diamonds, and it doesn't get killed by some artifact hate, the only way I can see it working is if you involve it in some sort of combo.

I could be wrong, but it's options just aren't that impressive for the cost. The flexibility is nice, but I think the cost and the fact that it dies to artifact hate more than overshadows it.

The white Stax thread also considered it as an alternative to Elspeth. It's great with Humility, because all your goats become 1/1 :) It also lets you recur lock pieces, sacrifice Smokestack...
