Legacy Scene and Stores at Vancouver - Canada and Chicago - USA

Hi guys!

I'm going to visit Vancouver(Canada) for 2 weeks and Chicago for 1 week on this January 17 to February 5, so I would like to know if someone know any Legacy Tournament or Store in these areas, I'm looking to get some Fbb Duals to finally finish my Pimp Legacy deck since they are pretty hard to find in Brazil.Another thing I would like to know is about the best things to do/to visit during my trip.

Magic Stronghold has a ton of stuff, T&N Games has some odds and ends. Many players have tons of good stuff. Bring lots of cash :p

Dark Tower Games, in Bellingham, Wa, has a large selection of legacy singles. It is an hour drive from Vancouver. I am not in the market for FBBs, so I didnt see if they had any. Also, if you post on http://northwestmagic.com someone in the area might have some for sale.

And as far as I know, there aren't any large Legacy tournaments happening in the Northwest during your trip. Just the typical weeklies.

You are very unlikely to find any pimp cards (like foreign foils or FBB/Beta duals) for sale at any card store in Chicago. I live here and it's a wasteland for that type of thing, even though it's the third biggest city in the country. You're much better off just buying on eBay, MOTL, and MKM. Good luck on your trip.

Where the hell are you supposed to play Legacy here in Chicago? It seems as though regular tournaments are equally sparse.

Umm it's a little disappointing (since the decks you guys show at Eternal Central are pretty amazing), but do you know any point or store where legacy players usually go? Thx!

The best place in Chicagoland to play Legacy is Monday nights at Hot Sauce Games (http://www.hotsaucegames.com/MTGtournaments).

On Thursdays Pastimes (http://www.pastimes.net/) has a weekly Legacy event scheduled though at the moment their calendar seems quite out of date. It's $5 and goes at 7:00 PM. Unfortunately, it is hit or miss if it fires. There are a few regulars. We hope to one day entice a few more people into becoming regulars ;)

The Gaming Goat (http://thegaminggoat.com/) in Schaumburg has a pretty decent Legacy selection as I recall, but I can't confirm anything of the FBB variety. Best to call them if you want something particular before trekking out there. It's a good place to play, but they don't run a regular Legacy event, much to my chagrin.

Xtreme Games (http://www.xtremegamesonline.com/) used to run a monthly event, but lately scheduling has been sporadic. It's on the calendar for this Saturday, but I got my doubts about it firing :( They also run a monthly proxy Vintage event which as I understand it has a pretty good turnout.

There are a couple other places in Chicago but I've never been to either Dice Dojo or Alternate Reality. I think that covers a pretty large slice of the MtG shops in the area though.

Within the city limits of Chicago the only Legacy tournaments that I know of are at Dice Dojo. In the suburbs the weekly Monday night Legacy tournament at Hot Sauce Games is probably the best around (very good competition, very good owners). Xtreme Games runs monthly Vintage and Legacy tournaments on various weekends, and you can check the calendar on their website for exact details.
