While Restoration Angel is extremely horrible a card in Legacy, Geist of Saint Traft is hexproof.
Objectively Geist of Saint Traft doesn't belong into a control deck, because he is so one-sided an aggressive, but absolutely not a defensive player. However, since this is Legacy, strategy doesn't matter, it's all about good cards.
1. It is for a fact that Geist of Saint Traft is one of Swords to Plowshares' and Path to Exile's best friends.
2. Jace TMS and Snapcaster, both of which belong to the best control cards available are atcually aggro-control cards meaning that they fit perfectly into the philosophy of Geist of Saint Traft.
3. For some reason SCM, Jace, and Geist all love Swords to Plowshares
4. Force of Will
5. Brainstorm
6. Jace TMS
...if you don't know what to do with it
So, what I want to say is that I'm actually not sure if this deck is actually a control deck or not, lol. That's because SCM, Jace combined with StP, and PtE plus FoW is just a compilation of efficient cards.
Nevinyrral's Disk
People say this card is too slow. But at the end of the day it doesn't matter whether a card is too slow, but whether the whole deck is too slow or not. As matter of fact, the deck is not too slow for Legacy; quite the contrary, this deck is very fast. I mean, how do you want to out-efficiency a deck with 7 plow-effects, SCM, FOW, 25 mana-sources, etc.? With Delver of Secrets and Daze? hardly.
On the flipside Disk crushes the metagame:
1. Show and Tell decks
2. Miracle control: Entreat the Angels, and Counterbalance
3. Stoneblade
4. gets rid of Pernicious Deed that hinders a Geist
5. is immune to Abrupt Decay
6. Vial, Manlands
People say Disk is liable, Ancient Grudge, a card that is red and green. However, in the face of counterspells everything is liable, everything is equal, since counterspells come into action before card-texts matter. Except Supreme Verdict of course, but it's not that your deck is immune to Counterspells if you run Supreme Verdict.
25 mana-sources: This is trademark of my decks, I've tested this over and over again and finally came to the conclusion that this high a land-count must be if I run Disk and Jace in such high numbers. Really, in world, where Wasteland is everywhere, how do you want to hit your fourth land with consistency if running less than 25 mana-sources?
Mana Leak: Maybe this should be Counterspell.
// 25
2 Tundra
8 Island
8 Plain
4 Flooded Strand
2 Polluted Delta
1 Eternal Dragon
// Threats: 12
4 Jace The Mind Sculptor
4 Geist of Saint Traft
4 Snapcaster Mage
// Brain: 4
4 Brainstorm
// Counterspells: 8
4 Force of Will
4 Mana Leak
// Removal: 11
4 Nevinyrral's Disk
4 Swords to Plowshares
3 Path to Exile
SB:
4 Spell Pierce
...
The idea of the deck is the following:
1. be efficient, including being efficient offensively (achieved by Geist of Saint Traft)
2. have inevitability by scaling up to 4c bombs (Disk, Jace)
3. have an answer against everything (achieved by Disk)
