Cool article. Especially liked the Domri Rade brew and the Enter the Infinite brew.

Resolving Balustrade Spy is like throwing your deck off the balcony, and into a dumpster. Gotta love flavor!

Great Articel Carsten. As a developer of the rogue deck Lifegain/Ascension, i used your idea with Orzhov Charm in a Martyr+Serra Combo Shell. Black Splash seems promising enough. I created a quick deck list on mtg-forum.de (Legacy, Established). Maybe i try it in our local Berlin store

Great article, thanks for sharing.

Any reason you went with the mimeoplasm kill in the spy deck instead of the Angel of Glory's Rise / Azami / Laboratory Maniac kill? I do like chancellor of the tangle, I'd forgotten about him an an IMS.

Thanks everybody, happy you enjoyed it :)

@MD.Ghost: I'll love to see that deck doing some work come February :D

@alphastryk: I wasn't aware of the Azami kill to be honest. Mimeoplasm has the advantage that it just totally ignores any form of spot removal (even though it's very unlikely to matter given that they need three working pieces of Instant speed removal if you can afford to pass the turn after comboing. Still, weird games happen.). I guess Azami/Maniac is better if opponents have Leyline of Sanctity? Either way, I don't think it matters much, what the deck really wants is a kill that takes fewer slots....
Btw, I just figured out we had a thread for this deck here on the source. Good work!

With Balustrade Spy, aren't all your Narcomoeba triggers going to hit the stack at the same time, giving your opponent a really good opportunity to grab your Dread Return with DrS/Surgical/Etc?

Definitely. They could also just surgical the Mimeoplasm or whatever else they desire. Hence the suggestion in the article that the deck might want to board into Belcher once they get access to gy hate. Deathrite should be less of a problem, given the decks target speed. If it doesn't end up roughly on Belcher levels, it won't work anyway so anything that costs more then 0/1 mana is (hopefully) irrelevant as far as disruption is concerned.

Nice articel as allways :-)
For example i haven't thought that much about the orzov charm, but i like the idea and the Deck perhaps it is worth a try...
