Inspired by Hollywood's article about Artificer's Intuition and some subsequent games againts Aggro Loam, I got to wondering if Loam could provide a source of recursion for AI by pitching your artifact lands to AI and then dredge-engining them back to tutor for more bullets and creating card advantage.

Hollywood's Article: (http://jupitergames.info/articles/2013/52771/the-cutting-room-floor-artificers-intuition)

For Referance, a list of Worthwhile Artifacts:

Ęther Spellbomb
Avarice Totem
Brittle Effigy
Cursed Scroll
Elixir of Immortality
Expedition Map
Graffdigger's Cage
Grindstone
Hex Parasite
Locket of Yesterdays
Meekstone
Phyrexian Dreadnought
Pithing Needle
Relic of Progenitus
Sensei's Divining Top
Chalice of the Void
Chimeric Mass
Engineered Explosives
Lion's Eye Diamond
Mox Opal
Lotus Petal
Tormod's Crypt
Zuran Orb
Mox Diamond
Welding Jar
Voltaic Key
Dispeller's Capsule
Executioner's Capsule
Pyrite Spellbomb
Artifact Lands

The core of the deck will likely end up something along the lines of
4 Life from the Loam
4 Artificer's Intuition
4 Sensei's Divining Top
4 Mox Opal
4 Seat of the Synod
4 Tree of Tales
4 Other Artifact lands
Some amout of bullets for AI

Some other cards to consider:
Trinket Mage
Ensnaring Bridge
Counterbalance
Riddlesmith
Rings of Brightheath
Intuition
Mox Diamond

As for lands, we can consider:
Academy Ruins
Maze of Ith
Tolarian West
The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale
Wasteland
Tranquil Thicket (Cycling Lands)
And either Darksteel Citadel or off-color artifact lands for EE.
In addition to the usual mix of fetchs, duals, and basics.

Obviously we are going to be U/G something, but is there reason to play another color? Right away splashing white seems very tempting, it gives you access to Enlightened Tutor, which not only grabs AI but any silver bullet artifact that you're running and Moat or Humility, which vastly improve the creature heavy matchups. White gives us access to Dispeller's Capsule as an additioan way to remove artifacts/enchantments, creature removal (Swords, Terminus), and the combo finish with Auriok Salvagers.

In red, we can get Goblin Welder and Pyrite Spellbomb. As well as potentially some recurring removal in the form of Punishing Fire or Flame Jab.

As far as actually winning, there are several potential combo options:
Painters + Grindstone
Salvegers + LED + Spellbombs
Phyrexian Dreadnought + Stifle
Top + Locket of Yesterdays + Brain Freeze

I don't know, what do you guys think about using Loam as souce of CA alongside AI? I'll actually put it altogether into a list tomorrow, but for now it is getting late so I'll let you think it over.

For this type of deck, I would favor Torpor Orb over Stifle if you want to use Phyrexian Dreadnought.

This seems like an awesome starting point. I really like being in white or black if possible due to how easy it would be to fit thopter / sword into this kind of list. Black would give access to deathrite, tezzeret, baleful strix, while white gives you enlightened tutor, stp, terminus, moat, humility.

8-12 artifact lands is a LOT though, and I've found from playing other artifact land heavy control decks, it both makes your mana awkward and opens you up to wasteland a lot.

You could just use a storm kill with Locket of Yesterdays and tops to end the game somehow also.

Phyrexian Dreadnought + Stifle

You could use aether vial to vial a dreadnought in response to another dreadnought trigger... pretty janky

I've thought about the deck a bit more, and the loam engine is really too slow to be of any value when the goal is to use AI to find you're combo pieces ASAP.

I finally threw together a list, though I've yet to play many games with it:

4 Life from the Loam
4 Sensei's Divining Top
4 Artificer's Intuition
3 Counterbalance
3 Ensnaring Bridge
4 Mox Opal
3 Enlightened Tutor
1 Chalice of the Void
1 Expedition Map
1 Elixir of Immortality
1 Engineered Explosives
1 Grafdigger's Cage
1 Tormod's Crypt
2 Pithing Needle
1 Meekstone
1 Scroll of Griselbrand
1 Brittle Effigy
1 Welding Jar
1 Ęther Spellbomb
1 Dispeller's Capsule
1 Maze of Ith
1 Academy Ruins
1 Mutavault
4 Seat of the Synod
2 Tree of Tales
1 Ancient Den
4 Misty Rainforest
1 Tundra
3 Forest
3 Island

As you can see, I went a much slower route with Counterbalance and Ensnaring Bridge. The mana looks a mess, and worked decently, but definitely could be improved. I ended up playing 7 artifact lands, as they can be chain-pitched to fill the grave for loam, and then returned to function as our CA Squee.
The kill is borrowed from bruizar's AI planeswalker stacks list. You AI for Scroll of Griselbrand and Mutavault (via Expedition Map), then recur the scroll with Academy Ruins or Elixir and force your opponent to discard (you can hit them after draw) and bolt them every turn.
