Hi all! I don't know if this is the better place to post this, but I have not found any other (if there is such a sub-forum for this, please, let me know).
I'd like to ask you about this trade. What pile would you think is better, and why?
Pile A (from Revised):
1x Bayou mint
1x Scrubland near mint
Pile B (all mint from RTR):
4x Blood Crypt
3x Hallowed Fountain
3x Overgrown Tomb
4x Steam Vents
4x Temple Garden
Best regards!

It's worth remembering that the cards in the second pile are all about to get reprinted in Dragon's Maze.

I know it, but thanks for pointing it out.
So... would you prefer the Revised duals?

Is this real? Aren't they about to stick the shocks in the 3rd set of this block instead of a basic land? Of course you'd take the reserved list cards.

In fact, I would get the shocks :-)

Do not get the shocks. The Shocks after Maze are going to Tank so hard in price. Unless you just dont ever want to play legacy and you only play modern or standard. But why would you be on this board if that were the case?

....I would keep the revised duals any day of the week. Trading them for standard/modern crap in comparison is a terrible move almost always. I laughed when I heard about my friend getting this trade:
His:
3 Boros Reckoner
3 Clifftop Retreat
1 Hellrider
For:
Jace, the Mind sculptor. Wow, it's like he traded 10 dollars in cards for a card that's worth ten times that number. It's the same case in your trade. You trade away those revised duals and you will live to regret it.
Also, shocklands in Dragon's maze will tank the price hard. Sounds like the person who offered the trade is trying to unload them for good cards that won't tank. I know I would snap make that trade if I was trading away standard/modern crap for reserved list cards that are infinitely harder to find in comparison (seriously, who doesn't own shocklands? They are so easy to find and obtain.)

It's not the same. Your friend got ripped off, because he lost a significant amount of money, while the OP would get around the same value if you compare the current price of the cards. Dragon's Maze won't impact the price that much (plus it's several monthsin the future), as there will be 1 shockland in about 11 packs or so. I don't say it's a good deal (duals are far more rare and likely to increase in value), but as of now it's kinda "fair".

Only one of these piles produces blue mana. Is this a real question?
On a more serious note, it depends if you are investing for the long term or not. The shocks will be worth less in the long run, I think due to more printings, especially with Modern Masters coming soon. I'll admit though that I'm biased due to enjoying Legacy far more than Modern / Standard.

Meh value wish he basically gave away the hell rider, but reckoner will not stay that high. Id trade that pile for Jace any day.

? Hadnt realized Clifftops are at 15 each atm. I'd still do the trade. Reckoners wont stay that high and Hellriders at 17 are ridonkulous.
Apathy house puts its at for the duals $103.70 vs $189.09 for the shocks. Most stores offers a 70-75% trade it so I would take the shocks, sell them to $141.75 trade, use the store credit to buy back the duals and pocket nearly $40

That can't be right. Bayou's are almost 100 by themselves.
SCG has Bayous at 100 and Scrubs at 70. Obviously you can find them cheaper elsewhere, but this does go a decently long way to determining prices.
This is as compared to RTR Steam Vents at 8
Blood Crypts 10
Hallowed Fountain 12
Temple Garden 12
Overgrown Tomb 10

I somehow misread the post and thought he got the T2 crap for trading away Jace.

Boros seems to have become super popular in Standard right now since it has a property that the format lacked before - it's fast and thus punishes the ramp-midrange-clusterfuck pretty hard.
I would do the trade, cash in since current demand is ridiculously high (and the cards will be worthless later on) and buy a Jace back from the money while having earned some extra cash in the process.
Boros Reckoner at 25 bucks? C'mon...

You cant sell it for 25 though... Buylist would probably take them for 15-17. Even Ebay is going to take theirs.

They are slightly less worth than JTS and the difference will grow further.

I'm cashing out of Legacy and even I would take the duals. Shocks won't drop that much from Dragon's Maze though they will. Shocks are more of a really long term investment. Duals are always safe. Even if Legacy completely died, those will always be good even then.
