Does casting a copy of a spell via Panoptic Mirror cause Recycle to trigger?

At the beginning of your upkeep, you may copy an imprinted instant or sorcery card. If you do, you may play the copy without paying its mana cost.

Whenever you play a card, draw a card.


601.1a Some effects still refer to "playing" a card. "Playing a card" means playing that card as a land or casting that card as a spell, whichever is appropriate.

The copy is played, but is is not a card. So recycle won't trigger.
But Ebon Drake will because wording is "cast a spell".
