My opponent plays Stifle on an activated ability that I would like to resolve (say, a Fetchland). I have Spellskite on the battlefield.
Would the redirection work if I activate Spellskite’s ability twice?
Let’s say I activate it once to make Stifle target Spellskite. This would do nothing when it resolves, but it can still be activated. See Oracle rules for Spellskite:
6/1/2011: You can activate Spellskite's ability even if Spellskite wouldn't be a legal target for the spell or ability. However, the target of that spell or ability will remain unchanged.
Now that I have a valid Stifle target (Spellskite’s ability on the stack), I should be able to activate Spellskite’s ability again, making Stifle target the first Spellskite activision.
Does that work? Thanks for clarification
