I'm crossposting this for the store since they do not have an account. All you Seattle mages should swing on by! There is a food court right next to the event site so you can eat lots of yummies while you toss lots of spells and have a grand ol' wizarding time.

Sanctioned Legacy Event @ Uncle’s Games Bellevue

Uncle’s Games Bellevue is running a sanctioned Legacy tournament Saturday, March 23rd, 2013. We are still new at hosting different constructed events but are eager to support events for all Magic players, and welcome any advice and comments/critiques as to how we can better serve the Magic community.

We are located at:
Uncle’s Games
Bellevue Crossroads
15600 NE 8th St Suite K10
Bellevue, WA 98008
(425) 746-1539

Entry Fee will be $15

Sign-up will start at 11:30 AM to give players time to fill out a deck list, and Round 1 will begin at 12:30 PM.
All of the entry fees go towards prize support. Prizes will be a Revised Bayou for first place, generously provided by Alter Ego Comics, and store credit for second through fourth place. Store credit can be used for any Magic product or related accessories we carry. We are planning on 4 rounds of Swiss followed by a top 4, but we may increase that to 5 rounds of Swiss if turn out is greater than we anticipate. Please make sure your deck follows the Legacy Deck Construction guidelines, and either have a deck list available or be ready to fill one out.

2nd -70
3rd - 50

We hope everyone will try to make it to our first Legacy event, and look forward to your feedback on how to make future events as positive an experience as we can.

Oh sweet! I'm am excited about another potential Legacy venue on the Eastside.

I'll probably be missing this one so I hope the turnout earns another.

Howdy doo. Sorry for the late response. I didn't see your post until just now. But yes, we are hoping to get more regular Legacy events on the Eastside. I attended your last Legacy Games and Gizmos event and I had alot of fun. I hope you guys can keep firing those and I'll keep bugging people to get off their butts and attend.

In the meantime, this tournament is happening this Saturday. I am hoping to convince some Seattle players to make the (short) drive. Otherwise I will have to take revenge by beating them all at Card Kingdom's event on Sunday. It should be a good weekend for Legacy.

Don't count on danyul showing up, he does this "make sure you're here this weekend" bait-and-switch schtick where he ends up not showing up.

Edit: If you can make it though, definitely try to do so. One of the great things about the Seattle area is the Legacy community!

I'll be there, and I should be bringing 1 or 2 other northerners. Hopefully we can get more than the five that showed last weekend for the Card Advantage tournament. :frown:

Lol YUUUUUUUUUU. That was a different situation. As far as attendance, we will mosdef fire. We fired an impromptu tourney just last Saturday and got 9 people with like 15 minutes notice. That was just from people hanging around the store. I bet we can easily hit 16 for this one if you bring a couple wizardly friends.

Will try to make it. I'm motivated for Legacy and am happy that the weather looks decent (I sat around with wet feet for seven hours last Saturday). But I have out-of-town friends staying with me who are not wizardly. So we'll see.

I'm excited to here that the Eastside is a Legacy mecca, and that one need only tap on random shoulders in a food court to get a tournament with 15+. My neighborhood is a Legacy backwater (but an EDH stronghold apparently).

Ended up making it after all. Turnout was either 17 or 19.

Top four was Goblins, TES, Deadguy, and Hive Mind. Hive Mind v TES in the finals. Didn't stay to see how that turned out.

Decks I saw represented

Goblins x2
Burn/RDW something
Elves
Miracles x2 (one was UW/r, didn't see the other closely)
Dredge
Reanimator
Bant/Noble Fish
Show&Tell
Hive Mind
Dead Guy
TES
ANT (UBr storm)
UR Delver
... missing some in there

I, the TES player, lost to Hive Mind in the finals.

Also present were:

Nic Fit w/ Scapeshift
12 Post
Alluren
There were 19 players. I think the one missing deck might have been Bant.

Great turn out, glad to meet so many new legacy players. Only one small hiccup, with the two missing Imperial Recruiters after a deck check (they were found and returned).

Can't wait until the next one!

I spoke briefly with the T.O. and he said that they would definitely run one again. It's just a matter of when. They have a ton of other events they run and fitting in Legacy has been something of a challenge. But now that we have demonstrated to the store owner that Legacy can pull a crowd, I'm sure we will start seeing more regular Legacy tourneys on the Eastside.

Also, about the deckcheck snafu, I was told that the party/parties(?) at fault were very, very sorry about the whole thing and would do everything in their power to never have that happen again. It's just a good thing the cards were found. Otherwise it would have been a pretty feel-bad tourney, regardless of who won.

Overall, it was a good tournament. I think most other people felt the event was enjoyable and went rather smoothly, snafu aside. I had the Mongolian Beef, as well as a piroshky, and I think I proved both to myself, and my angry belly, that playing Legacy while a terrible cover band sings to the old and disabled all in the midst of the most tastalicious food court the good lord has fit to ever be seeeeeennnnn....is pretty sweet. I hope to see all you guys, and maybe a few more, at the next one.
