Hi there!
I'd like to know what you guys think about Abyssal Persecutor in Legacy. Right now, there is Punishing Fire and Abrupt Decay everywhere and the only removal that just kills Persecutor is Swords to Plowshares and that card just kills everything, so what. His ability to trample over stuff like Vendilion Clique and Lingering Souls tokens makes him a really quick clock.

I was thinking of using him in a BW shell with Lingering Souls to really abuse Cabal Therapy. Playing Liliana of the Veil, Vindicate, Swords to Plowshares and Phyrexian Tower, we can make sure to get rid of him when the time comes.

I'm not sure about the rest of the deck though. I tried out adding Deathrite Shaman, Dark Confidant, Thoughtseize, Sensei's Divining Top, Umezawa's Jitte and Zealous Persecution[cards/] to fill the deck, but it didn't seem too good in testing. Maybe a [cards]Stoneforge Mystic toolbox? Tidehollow Sculler? Bitterblossom, Intangible Virtue?

What does the source think about this?

Abyssal Persecutor is a fringe playable card, probably best suited to a mono-black deck called "The Gate." It does have a thread on The Source, but nobody has posted on it in over a month. I supposed that it's not well positioned in the current meta.

I love that big 'ol demon. I agree with Justin that's it's fringe playable. The trouble is when other decks are plopping down Emrakul's and Griselbrands on turn 2 and such, he's just not as scary. That said, if I were to make a deck around him, I would splash green. That gets you access to DRS, your own Abrupt Decay and of course Berserk, which is a very stylish way to end the game. You'll be an underdog, but I'll be rooting for ya!

He's seen some play in DeadGuy Ale (Trample+Equipment=good) and NicFit (GB builds).

Yeah, he would be great in Eva Green:
