Alpha Corners

Are alpha corners uniform from one to the next or is there some variation? Just picked up a Bolt online. In person, I am suspicious of the corners. One of the corners does notice look right. Placing it next to other cards, the top corners are just slightly smaller than other alpha cards I own.

Are Beta cards with the corners shaved down to look like Alpha a thing to watch out for? In this case it might be to hide some edge wear and pass off a SP Beta as NM Beta.

Nothing was 100% uniform in the early days of Magic. While there is a possibility that someone faked an Alpha Bolt, I'm not sure it's really worth the trouble. The weight and feel of the card should be the biggest giveaways if something isn't kosher.
