I remember you telling me about that Breakthrough, it still took a second to register just what it meant when you told me it before the "wow" set in.
Grats on another top 8 pin though!

That match against Jund was brilliantly played. I had the pleasure of watching it live on camera and agree with your assessment that most players (myself included) would not have put themselves in a position to "get lucky" in the way you did in game 3. Really great stuff.

That is a very sexy and original list. Congrats.

Joe, are you going to Vegas with the MTGDeals crew?

I plan on going. Something fairly important would have to come up between now and then for me to miss it.

Just something I noticed in the first game against Cedric. When you cast swords to plowshares on his siege-gang he had the option of sacrificing it to deal 2 damage (he had 3 mana open) but he opted not to. I think the game could have played out slightly different if he had since you would have come into double tarfire range later on when he attacked with all his goblins.
Anyways, congratz with the result!

I remember thinking that was odd when it happened. During the game it appeared that he considered using it and chose not to, but I didn't think to ask him about it afterwards. The way things ended up, it wouldn't have changed the outcome (mostly because I knew about both Tarfires so I could plan around them), but I do wonder what his reasoning was.
Congrats! Love your list. Just a question because you seem to go heavier on red due to the 2 Volcanics - why did you opt not to play Blood Moon?

Blood Moon is the last card I want to be playing. I lean heavily on Karakas, and cut my fifth Island when I put in the Volcanics. Plus, without Enlightened Tutor I would have to rely on actually drawing it. I know it has proved useful in other builds, but with the way I am set up right now I don't think it would help me too much. I wish it was in my deck anytime I get paired against 12 post, but that almost never happens.
