Ill admit that I have no idea how to reddit, but what is the point of a reddit community when we have the source?

well IMO reddit once you learn how it works is the easiest way of sharing info and discussing it on the web. TheSource is epic and is the go to for legacy...so why not add another outlet to discuss tourneys new cards decks and info pertaining to legacy

MtG subreddits all end up being shitty festivals of Karma whoring and posts about what "My wife, who doesn't play" did for the prerelease.

I/we will make rules about keeping post like that to http://www.reddit.com/r/magicTCG/ ?

Im not really a huge fan of Reddit. It seems like a tame version of /b/.

Because I don't want to have to open 2 tabs and sift through twice as many threads whenever I want to talk/read about 1 topic.
Isn't that obvious?

I moderate some other subreddits, so I'd be happy to help with this one. My username there is thefringthing.

Ill admit that I have no idea how to reddit, but what is the point of a reddit community when we have the source? The nice thing about reddit compared to the Source is you can vote on posts and comments, so the dreck sinks to the bottom.

Looking forward to the duplicate "what should I add to my mono-green stompy deck to beat burn" subreddits.

Also the reason why I will be avoiding this, and reddit in general.

Example: 4th on the list

legacy RDW decklists suggestions? (self.MTGLegacy)
anyone point me towards some RDW variations for legacy?
my LGS does legacy once a week but don't allow proxies. I know I have the basics. lightning bolt, fireball, ball lightning. so I am looking or ideas to see what I can piece together.
thanks!

I suggest you copy Patrick Sullivan's burn deck to the T. I suggest you utilize proper capitalization and grammar. I suggest you make your posts on the internet worthwhile to read.

It's a combination of three things that kill me on the magic reddits. First is threads like this. Second is arts and crafts. Third is that someone asks why Tarmogoyf is good at least once a week.

Or the last 3 days on /r/MagicTCG

"LOOK AT MY SWEET PRERELEASE DECK"
"LOOK AT THE SWEET PRERELEASE COMBO I PULLED OFF" *ad nauseum*
"LOOK AT THE ICE CREAM/CUPCAKES/CANDY WE HAD AT THE PRERELEASE"
"MY GIRLFRIEND'S PRERELEASE POOL/ALTERS/WAS CHEATED A PSA"

I don't want to be a condescending neckbeard, but holy shit that subreddit is scrubtastic. /r/Spikes is worse, as it's the same thing, but with more "pros"

I disagree that r/spikes is worse. There are a lot of idiots on there, but there is some good discussion, and far less of the 'cupcake' type posts you mentioned. That being said, I'm not convinced r/legacy will be better than a dedicated forum like this one. I did subscribe though, it will be nice to have some Legacy content in my Reddit feed once in a while.

edit: IMO there should be a rule regarding "Legacy is dying!!" and Modern vs Legacy posts. That might just be me getting sick of those types of posts though

Subbed. I've been hoping someone was going to do this for a while now. Thanks for taking the initiative! Also, I'd be happy to help mod it if you guys still need some help. I'm on reddit way too much anyways, might as well be semi productive with it.
