if I have a counterbalence in play and i reveal a flip card such as turn//burn what happens?

for counterbalence can i choose wethier or not i have a 3 drop on top. or is the cmc of the card 5 with counterbalence.

also if i tap top to draw a card because of the comma after the draw can I put a top activation on the stack before the last part of the top resolves?

just a few interactions i had ran into and did not know what happened. thanks in advance.

Some useful information about splitcards. The important thing is highlighted. Counterbalance compares both CMC of your split card, and if at least one of them matches, the comparison is positive.

708.2. In every zone except the stack, split cards have two sets of characteristics and two converted mana costs. As long as a split card is a spell on the stack, only the characteristics of the half being cast exist. The other half’s characteristics are treated as though they didn’t exist.
708.6. Some effects perform comparisons involving characteristics of one or more split cards in a zone other than the stack.

708.6a An effect that performs a positive comparison (such as asking if a card is red) or a relative comparison (such as asking if a card’s converted mana cost is less than 2) involving characteristics of one or more split cards in any zone other than the stack gets only one answer. This answer is “yes” if either side of each split card in the comparison would return a “yes” answer if compared individually.
708.6b An effect that performs a negative comparison (such as asking if cards have different names) involving characteristics of one or more split cards in any zone other than the stack also gets only one answer. This answer is “yes” if performing the analogous positive comparison would return a “no” answer.
708.6c If an effect performs a comparison involving multiple characteristics of one or more split cards in any zone other than the stack, each characteristic is compared separately. If each of the individual comparisons would return a “yes” answer, the whole comparison returns a “yes” answer.

Example: Void reads, “Choose a number. Destroy all artifacts and creatures with converted mana cost equal to that number. Then target player reveals his or her hand and discards all nonland cards with converted mana cost equal to the number.” If a player plays Void and chooses 1, his or her opponent would discard Assault/Battery because the game sees its converted mana cost as “1, and 4.” The same is true if the player chooses 4. If the player chooses 5, however, Assault/Battery would be unaffected.

Not sure if I understand your question regarding SDT correctly, but as I read it you want to:
- Tap SDT to draw a card and then pay :1: to look at the top 3 cards of your library before SDT is put on top?

That would be impossible, since you can only cast spells or abilities if you have priority (and other timing restrictions are satisfied). You don't receive priority in this example until after SDT's ability has resolved (and thus SDT is on top of your library), so you cannot do anything in between.

jjjoness' is right. Once a spell or ability starts to resolve you must resolve the entire spell or ability to it's fullest extent. the things you CAN do with top that are 'tricks', or not normally done: pay 1 to look at the top 3 and respond to that with tap: draw a card, this will allow you to look at the top 3 cards after divining top is on the library and you could bury it a card or 2 if you like. You can tap: draw a card respond to that by untapping top and do it again (voltaic key), this will result in you drawing a card and placing divining top on your library then drawing divining top.

I have similar question.

Lets say that opponent cast split card, once without fuse, once with fuse.

I will reveal card with CMC3, while only one half of splitted card has this CMC. What will happen?

When a split card is cast, you treat the other half like it doesn't exist. When a split card is fused, you combine the two halves. For example far//away has a CMC of 2//3 respectively and when fused its CMC = 5
