"Fertile Ground is pretty sweet. For years this relatively benign Urza's Saga common has been neglected, relegated to dusty card boxes in closets. After the success of Finkel's groundbreaking neo-ramp deck, including a landmark win at the Pro Tour, I don't think anyone is going to bee taking this card lightly."
- Luis Scott-Vargas

"You remember Jace? The broken one? The best card in magic, Jace, the Mind Sculptor? Get ready for this. Jungle Barrier is BETTER than Jace. Not only that but it also works wonderfully with Jace; the interaction is reminiscent of the best deck ever (Necro decks, Academy decks, you aint even close!) Caw-Blade's SFM into Batterskull. Which is, you know, kinda good. If you aren't playing four Jungle Barrier in every format you're doing it wrong.
- Patrick Chapin

"I fucking love Hellkite Overlord."
- Brian Kibler

I wanted to harness the awesome power of scarecrow tribal and I think came up with a pretty streamlined, powerful list. Although they are the best tribe in the game, scarecrows require some support and you have to make a few concessions in your deck construction. Fortunately, Reaper King is a lord of lords, with each subsequent scarecrow you cast you can really put the hurt on. It's harvest time, bitches.

There is Conspiracy in case you need one more of those cards. Rite of Replication on Reaper King = destroy 20 permanents. Or you can copy the allmighty Jungle Barrier :P

+1 for Collective Restraint and way how you use card pool. Its really rare to see Maelstrom Archangel or Utopia Tree.

Kismet = Frozen Aether, but you have more Islands in your mana base.

I would try all Changelings for more interactions.

The first Scarecrows in any Scarecrow tribal deck I make are generally:

Chameleon Colossus
//he is also my favorite Bear, Cat and Dandan
Taurean Mauler
Mirror Entity
Shapesharer
Pili-Pala
Scarecrone

You might find the interaction of Xenograft/Conspiracy and any cheap token generator (Awakening Zone, Dragon Broodmother, Sliver Queen, Mycoloth, Avenger of Zendikar, Assemble the Legions, etc.) or any blinking card (Norin the Wary) pretty ridiculous. That's assuming you want to play 100 Vindicates.dec. And who doesn't?

@Everyone: Thank you for the advice!

Regarding Conspiracy, I think if I can find room for another it that would be pretty sweet. Xenograft tends to draw a lot of hate so a redundant copy isn't a bad idea.

Rite on Jungle Barrier is pretty sweet. Or Reaper King That's a decent play too :D

The token generator + scarecrow enchantment seems like a pretty cool idea. I'll just have to find a sweet, old, obscure one to play.

Taurean Mauler and Chameleon Colossus are definitely cool enough to play. I'll have to Gatherer search up some changelings.

The reason why I'm running Kismet and not Frozen Aether is because the former is older but the latter is easier to cast because I have more blue sources. Also, that's the reason for pretty much every card choice in the deck: it's cool, I like it and/or nostalgia.

The tokens would synergize really well with Opposition too... something to think about. Old token generators include Breeding Pit, Verdant Force (which you already have), Verdeloth the Ancient, and Sliver Queen!

In line with the throwback theme:

Regrowth
Propaganda
Phyrexian Arena
Allied Strategies
Nevinyrall's Disk

There may not be room, but those are all fun old school control allstars.

Hmm.. if I was to build a Reaper King deck around those Conspiracy interactions instead of the old school stuff, I'd probably dump in a lot of tutors and recursion to keep a Conspiracy effect on the table, and then have some fun.

That's the general idea anyway. Would need to cut some cards.

This basically turned into an enchantment control/Stax-type deck with Reaper King doing precision strikes on problem cards, and an eventual token win condition.

This has too many cards and needs streamlining, but you get the idea.
