So i recently noticed that burning wish is like 50-70$ for a foil version while living is 12 and cunning is 14.

im very suprised that cunning wish isnt played more, its an instant speed tutor...

with the rise of omniscience and dark depths decks the wishes finally have more suitable homes than the random foils box in the corner.

does death wish even deserve to be mentioned here? It could provide a valuable strategy if you were trying to get your life really low, maybe with something like death's shadow.

Living and cunning wish seem very underpriced right now or burning wish is just way over priced?

Should burning wish really be that expensive?

1: Burning Wish sees more play than Cunning, even if Cunning starts showing up in S&T that still means it only goes in 2 decks, S&T and High Tide.

2: Living Wish sees practically no play. Seriously I haven't seen Living Wish get played in almost a decade since it was in the Rock and that infinite life combo deck.

3: Foil Burning Wish is $50, guess what format Burning Wish sees play in that Cunning Wish doesn't, there is your answer.

I'm pretty sure Burning Wish is more expxpensive than the other mentioned wishes because of Vintage. Thanks Menendian!

im not bitching about the price of the card just trying to get a handle on why its so much more than the others. If it sees play in vintage i guess that would explain a very small amount. i can see how it has more applications currently in the legacy metagame but i was wanting to find out more if

cunning wish is underpriced and will see a jump cause of the new and upcoming decks?

and will living wish start to see play?

Yeah the bitching about prices thread was renamed sarcastically to reflect the most common usage of the thread but it's supposed to be the catchall thread for price discussions so people don't start a new thread every time they want to talk about the price of a card. Otherwise between prices and banned discussions the front page would just be full of redundant threads.

I think you underestimate the sway of Vintage on old foil combo cards.

Cunning Wish is only underpriced if it is underplayed. If it turns out to be the real deal it might spike in price or it might fizzle out ala Riptide Lab and be worthless again in a month.

If you want Cunning Wishes to play I'd get them now. There is a slight risk they will balloon but otherwise they are really cheap right now anyways so it's unlikely they will go down ever from where they are now. If you want to buy into Wishes heavily then sell out and roll around in a pile of money good luck. I mean saying a card is worth $20 and being able to actually get $20 for it are 2 completely separate things. Before you play Warren Buffet of MTG I'd recommend you search out my posts in the bitching about prices/reprints thread on the subject where I outline why that's usually a losing venture.

Living Wish became bad the day Green Sun's Zenith got printed.

I've seen Living Wish played in some Elves decks, but that's pretty much it.

Cunning Wish is a slow card which is somewhat true for all Wishes but the use of Wish is pretty limited. Burning Wish is a Staple in both Vintage and Legacy fueling, Long, TES, TNT, Belcher and several S&T variants explaining the price. For Living Wish the problem is that Green Sun's Zenith and Natural Order exist to grab Silver Bullets from your Deck rather than limiting SB space. NO and GSZ are both often even cheaper to cast than Living Wish
