Instant, G (1)
As an additional cost to cast Crop Rotation, sacrifice a land.

Search your library for a land card and put that card onto the battlefield. Then shuffle your library.

If I cast Crop Rotation, at it's resolution may I choose not to find any land at all?

And does this answer apply to whichever sort of tutoring effect?

(I'm asking this because, for instance, on Enlightened Tutor's FAQ (http://magiccards.info/arena/en/21.html), it says that "You do not have to find an artifact or enchantment card if you do not want to.")

If possible, please point to me the rule that supports the answer.

Thank you,

701.15. Search

701.15a. To search for a card in a zone, look at all cards in that zone (even if it's a hidden zone) and find a card that matches the given description.

701.15b. If a player is searching a hidden zone for cards with a stated quality, such as a card with a certain card type or color, that player isn't required to find some or all of those cards even if they're present in that zone.

701.15d. If a player is searching a hidden zone simply for a quantity of cards, such as "a card" or "three cards," that player must find that many cards (or as many as possible, if the zone doesn't contain enough cards).

If anything other than just "card" is specified for a search in the library, you can choose not to find a card. This is because otherwise a 3rd party (like a judge) would have to verify every failure to find, and that's really undesirable.
