Hey everybody, my name is Grant Wilkinson. Since this is my first post to the source, I'll tell you a little bit about my magic career to this point. I made the top 8 at St. Louis last year with TES, as well as this year with ANT. I top 4'd in Denver with Reanimator, and won SCG KC with ANT. For reference, this is the list:
4 Polluted Delta
3 Misty Rainforest
2 Underground Sea
1 Volcanic Island
2 Swamp
1 Island
2 Gemstone Mine
4 Dark Ritual
4 Cabal Ritual
4 Lion's Eye Diamond
4 Lotus Petal
4 Brainstorm
4 Ponder
4 Preordain
4 Gitaxian Probe
4 Duress
2 Cabal Therapy
4 Infernal Tutor
1 Ad Nauseam
1 Past in Flames
1 Tendrils of Agony
SB:
4 Abrupt Decay
1 Tropical Island
3 Carpet of Flowers
2 Slaughter Pact
2 Chain of Vapor
1 Cabal Therapy
1 Karakas
1 Tendrils of Agony
Yes, this is Adam Prosak's old list, it is also the list I used to win KC. I haven't made any changes for a couple of reasons, one, I don't like Ignorant Bliss at all, It's only good against Hymn, which you can usually nab with a Duress anyways. Massacre makes me incredibly nervous with Ad Nauseam against aggressive decks, and can't be cast with Gaddock Teeg in play. The other, and more important, reason I didn't change anything is because I'm incredibly lazy, and don't have foils.
My notes are a little hazy, I'm mostly operating off of storm and mana count, as well as life totals, but here's the report anyways:
R1: Jacob Medley with Shardless BUG
G1: He mulligans to 6, opening up with a fetch into a deathrite, I duress, seeing another deathrite, snapcaster mage, abrupt decay, abrupt decay, and maelstrom pulse, I take an abrupt decay and ship it back, he peels a land, plays his shaman, and passes with mana to eat something open. I cantrip, cast some rituals, an LED, and play an infernal tutor, casting my past in flames with some blue floating, he eats my tutor, and I cantrip a few times into another one for a tendrils.
G2: He opens up with a fetch into an inquisition, taking my brainstorm. I crack a fetch, preordain, ship it back. he plays a land and ships it back. I g probe, seeing no relevant disruption, cast some rituals, infernal tutor up an ad nauseum, cast it with some blue floating, it gets there.

R2:Andy with 4 color cascade
G1: He mulligans to 6, I open up with a g probe seeing brainstorm, grove of the burnwillows, wasteland, ancestral visions, punishing fire, and bloodbraid elf. I cantrip and ship it back. He peels a blue land, plays it, and passes. I cast 2 gitaxian probes for life, going to 14, cast a dark ritual, cast a duress, he brainstorms in response, I take his punishing fire, cast a cabal rit, LED, and cast my ad nauseam with 3 blue floating and an untapped land, it kills him pretty dead.
G2: He plays a fetch and casts a deathrite shaman, I duress, seeing a clique, shardless agent, scalding tarn, trop, and a force, take the force, ship it back. He untaps, plays a land, and plays a shardless agent, hitting a goyf, I untap, crack a fetch, play 4 mana rocks, a dark rit, cabal rit, infernal tutor, crack 2 led's for black & blue, cast my past in flames, flash back my rits, infernal tutor for tendrils.

4-0
R3: Mason Henry with RUG Delver
G1: He opens up with a goose off a trop, I cast a probe for life, seeing force, brainstorm, ponder, stifle, and another goose. Play an underground sea and cast a duress, take his force. He plays a ponder, and wastes my only land, I draw, pass back, my hand basically mana, a duress, and an infernal tutor, he plays his brainstorm, plays a fetch, plays his second goose and hits me to 14, I draw, rip a swamp, duress his stifle away. Pass back, he beats me down to 8, and ships it back, I draw a fetch, cast all my rituals, and past in flames loop him.
G2: He opens up with another goose, I probe, seeing daze, flusterstorm, force of will, scalding tarn, delver, and a brainstorm. I run my preordain into a daze, pass it back. He beats me down to 17, and plays his delver. I brainstorm and ponder it all away, finding no hand disruption but plenty of mana. ship it back, he blind flips his delver on his upkeep, and hits me down to 13, shipping it back. I untap, probe for life, going to 11, seeing force, bolt, flusterstorm, and brainstorm. Draw a brainstorm, cast it, putting back some superfluous cantrips, and leaving my hand ad nauseam, past in flames, dark ritualx3, LED, infernal tutor, fetch, play my fetch and crack it, going to 10, cast all of my rituals and my LED, he responds by bolting me and letting it resolve from 7, I flip a duress, land, brainstorm, land infernal tutor, LED, stop at 3, cast my duress off of one of my two black floating, he forces, pitching brainstorm, I play out my second LED, and put an infernal tutor on the stack, sacrificing both my LED's for red & black, if he lets this resolve, I don't have enough mana to cast a duress before I flashback past in flames, but he flusterstorms, I flashback my PiF, ritx3, and infernal tutor for a tendrils.

G1: He mulligans to 6, I open up with a fetch into basic swamp for a duress, seeing polluted delta, scalding tarn, gitaxian probe, dark ritual, infernal tutor, and a lotus petal, nab his tutor, pass back, he plays a land and ships it back. I brainstorm, play and crack a fetch cast a dark ritual, a lotus petal, and 2 LEDs, put an infernal tutor on the stack for an ad nauseam, it gets there from 18.
G2: He keeps his opening 7, I keep misty, duress, duress, cabal therapy, ad nasueam, preordain, preordain, intending to play the control role. He plays a lotus petal into a ponder, shuffles, plays a second petal into another ponder, keeps, plays an underground sea, and duresses me, taking a duress. I Duress him back, seeing ad nauseam, dark ritual, and a brainstorm, take the ad nauseam, ship it back, he brainstorms, plays a fetch, and passes. I cabal therapy, naming dark ritual, hit one, cast a preordain into an LED and a tutor, pass it back. he doesn't do anything and ships it back, I go through a past in flames loop for a tendrils.

R5: Jesse Inman - Team America
G1: He leads off with a fetched underground sea into a delver, I probe, seeing force, daze, thoughtseize, dimir charm, and brainstorm. Duress away his brainstorm, he flips his delver, thoughtseizes me, taking my tutor, knocks me to 14 and ships it back, I brainstorm into a cabal therapy, cast it hitting his force, leaving him with a dimir charm, daze, and a tombstalker. ship it back, he plays a land and hits me to 11, I brick out, shipping the turn with no plays, unable to get through a dimir charm. he knocks me to 8 and passes after playing his land, I cast a preordain, finding a brainstorm, cast it, finding a past in flames and a fetch, putting excess lands, crack my fetch and pass back. He hits me to five and casts a deathrite shaman, leaving me dead the next turn. I untap, cast all of my rituals, play an LED, ad put a tutor on the stack, pitching my past in flames to the LED, he lets it resolve, I fetch a duress, nab his dimir charm, and flashback my past in flames through his daze into my tutor for tendrils.
G2: He opens up with an underground sea into a deathrite shaman. I fetch a trop and cast a carpet of flowers into a second main preordain. He thoughseizes me, taking my infernal tutor, passes with mana open, I ponder and play a land, cast a duress, to which he responds by fetching a bayou and surgically extracting all of my infernal tutors, rather unfortunate, as I had left my second copy of tendrils in the board. My duress resolved, seeing a force, a daze, and a dimir charm, as well as 2 verdant catacombs, I take the force, and play a post combat carpet of flowers. He plays a verdant, and a freshly drawn deathrite shaman, passing back, I cantrip and ship the turn back, he eats one of my cantrips during my end step, putting me to 14. He untaps, plays his verdant, and main phase eats 2 of my cantrips out of my graveyard, putting me to 10, I brainstorm into a ponder and a fetch cracking the fetch, cast the ponder into a brainstorm, an LED, and a dark ritual, leaving them all, drawing the LED. He untaps, puts me to 6 during his main phase, thoughtseizes away cantrip of mine and passes. I peel a brainstorm, cast it, finding my past in flames, cast a dark ritual, LED, and lotus petal, put my past in flames back on top of my library, and put a preordain on the stack, saccing my LED for red, he cracks both of his verdants for an underground sea and a trop, dimir charming my preordain. I pass the turn, and he asks me if we're going to game three, I decline. He passes the turn with all of his mana open with me at 5. I untap, draw my past in flames, add three red and three blue off of my carpets, with my board being an island, a swamp, a trop, and a lotus petal, as well as the carpets, cast my past in flames off of RRR and my swamp. He responds by eating my last brainstorm, as well as my dark ritual I had cast last turn, leaving me with only 2 preordains and a duress in my graveyard. I flashback a preordain, bottoming 2 lands, and drawing a probe, flashback a preordain, bottoming a land and finding my tendrils, play my probe for mana, he dazes in response, I pay off of the island, and draw a dark rit. I cast the rit off of the lotus petal, and storm him for 14, with him being at 13 from 2 thoughtseizes and 3 fetches.

R6: Jacob Baugh - ANT
G1: He mulligans to five, I probe him, seeing rituals and lands, I crack a fetch into a preordain, setting up for a turn 3 ad nauseam. He does nothing of relevance and passes back. I brainstorm, shipping some excess lands, and needing to untap to kill him. He plays a brainstorm off the top, preordains both of the cards to the bottom. I untap, dark rit, cabal rit, LED, cast an ad nauseam from hand with a black and three blue floating, take myself from 17 to 4, kill him in short order.
G2: He opens up with lotus petal into ponder, shuffles, petal into preordain, bottoms both, and ships the turn with no land. I blind therapy him, naming cabal ritual, hit one, leaving him with an ignorant bliss, a dark ritual, and an infernal tutor, he draws, passes. I cantrip into a kill the next turn with a past in flames, ship the turn back. He plays out a lotus petal into a brainstorm. He plays an underground sea and passes. I untap, go through a past in flames loop into a tendrils for 24.

R7: Reed Skoog - Sneak and Show
G1: I open up with a probe, seeing brainstorm, ponder, show and tell, force, sneak attack, scalding tarn, and an island. I therapy out his force, ship it to him. He ponders and passes back. I brainstorm, crack a fetch, preordain into a duress. Pass it to him, he brainstorms, cracks his fetch, plays another ponder and ships it back. I duress him, taking his show and tell out of his hand of blanks, crack a fetch, and ad nauseam from 16 down to 6, naturally flipping my tendrils, casting two rituals and a duress before tendrils him for the kill.
G2:He opens up with a fetch and a cantrip. I probe him, seeing an emrakul, griselbrand, spell pierce, lotus petal, and a misty rainforest, ship it back. he plays his misty and passes back. I probe him again, seeing he has drawn a sneak attack. Cast a brainstorm, fetch away the fluff, preordain into an ad nauseam that I can't cast through his spell pierce. He peels a land, decides to jam his sneak attack with no mana open, I untap, rip an LED, cast my ad nauseam with three blue floating, having not made a land drop. I take myself down to three, and cantrip into the kill.
I gave my opponent the one game win, signing the slip 2-1 in my favor, as he was a really nice guy who would be fighting for breakers. It probably wouldn't matter all that much, but as nice as he was, he didn't really know what he was doing against storm, so I kind of wanted him in the top 8 if possible.

Quarterfinals: Jaime Scheffer - Death and Taxes
G1: I open up game one with a fetch and pass. He plays a plains and a mom, I cast a spare infernal tutor for a second LED over a cabal ritual, as it allowed me to ad nauseam the next turn with mana floating without having to rip a a mana producing source. He plays a phyrexian revoker from the top of his library, names LED, I peel a brainstorm, cast it, locking myself and passing back. He drops a thalia, which I am cold to.
G2: I have a decent hand with a chain of vapor, I cast a preordain, bottoming both, finding a duress (I left 2 in for mindbreak traps). He plays a plains and ships back, I draw, duress him, he enlighten tutors out a ethersworn canonist in response. I take his rest in peace, ship it back. He plays out his canonist, I pass with no plays, needing 1 mana to cast past in flames with mana floating to kill him. He plays a Thalia off the top, beats down for two. I end step chain his Thalia. Untap, peel a fetch. Slaughter pact his canonist and kill him.
G3: We both mulligan to 6. He opens up with an Aether Vial, passes, I have a fairly sideboard heavy hand with a cantrip and nonbasic lands. I cast my preordain, looking for a brainstorm, bottoming some hand disruption and finding a ponder. He ticks up his vial and plays a rest in peace, which sucks, because I was at least 4 turns away from being able to ad nauseam, or a really good brainstorm, assuming I drew well, I would be at a very low life total when I cast it. I draw an abrupt decay, cast my ponder, finding a fetch for my trop. Short a black mana to cast it that turn, however. He untaps, ticks up his vial again, draws, vials in a thalia, plays a port, and passes, porting my black source on upkeep, with me being unable to decay anything due to not having a third land. I brick on a land drop, pass with no plays. He ticks up his vial again, plays a land, plays out a revoker on LED, ports me on upkeep, I draw a misty rainforest, play it out, he vials in a mirran crusader, I do some quick counting, he has me dead in 2 turns, there is no possible combination of draws that allows me to live. I pack it in.
7-1-2
All in all, I had fun on the trip. All of my opponents were nice people. I drew extremely well throughout the day, which certainly helped. The deck is extremely powerful, it's an incredibly consistent turn three kill through most disruption. One of the better draws to playing ANT is that not many people know all of what they're doing against any form of storm combo, which leads to a lot of games you shouldn't have won ending in your favor. In summary, I'll be playing this deck until something drastic changes in the legacy meta.
Thanks for reading,
Grant

In summary, I'll be playing this deck until something drastic changes in the legacy meta.
