Got curious about this one, just because.

Someone casts a Phyrexian Metamorph copying a Leeching Licid. He activates it, targeting a March of the Machines that’s a 4/4 due to Opalescence.

What happens?

Leeching Licid-Metamorph would fail to attach as it would be a creature. Since it is not attached to anything, it would be put into the graveyard.

303.4d. An Aura can't enchant itself. If this occurs somehow, the Aura is put into its owner's graveyard. An Aura that's also a creature can't enchant anything. If this occurs somehow, the Aura becomes unattached, then is put into its owner's graveyard. (These are state-based actions. See rule 704.) An Aura can't enchant more than one object or player. If a spell or ability would cause an Aura to become attached to more than one object or player, the Aura's controller chooses which object or player it becomes attached to.

Note that Opalescence has no effect on Metamorph-Licid; only March of the Machines.

Metampoprh-Licid would start as a copy of Leeching Licid. Activating the Licid ability would convert it to a non-creature Aura Enchantment Artifact, and March of the Machines would turn it into a Creature. Upon doing so, the attachment would fail and the card would be buried.

@koby: Thanks. I was busting my brain here.
Thought you would not be able to activate Metamorph/Licid, but that makes more sense.
