I live in the area so anyone that is attending and has any questions about the area, I'm happy to help.

To any that attend, I think you will be pleasantly surprised to find that Detroit is not all burned-out buildings and abandoned factories (although we have PLENTY) that you've heard about. The tournament is downtown on the river: very nice.

Is all I can find right now. I expect there are videos to be found somewhere.

You probably can find some videos, but as there was no official video coverage of it by WOTC, any videos you find are going to be ones players did themselves.

The only videos for GP Detroit are the decktechs filmed by Kibler and GatheringMagic.

Thanks. I don't really understand why there is no coverage though. Some GP's are boring as hell(see coresets), and they get coverage. Not that modern is so fantastic, but anything beats standard or coresets imho.

Apparently they only wanted to budget money for so many coverages per year, and Detroit was one of the GP's they left out. There was a pretty big uproar over this, though, so hopefully we'll be seeing more video coverage of these sort of things.

I think part of the reason this in particular got such a negative reception was that there are few other opportunities to see video coverage of big Modern events. You can get Legacy and Standard on an almost weekly basis via SCG, but if you want to see such a thing for Modern, you really only have GP's and the Pro Tour.

Yeah,
with GP Antwerp coming up, it would have been nice to actually see decks in action.

I'm biased because I'm a Detroiter, but I think they expected a low turnout because Detroit has such a negative image.
