In episode six of #EverydayEternal Sean and Sam are conspicuously absent, and Matt Pavlic (sdematt) and Jacob Kory (@MTGKoby on Twitter) are joined by guests Michael Nixon and Kevin Long, level 2 judges from Vancouver and Los Angeles, respectively. The gang have a fun Q&A with the judges including interesting stories, rulings, and tips for dealing with your local judge. We wrap up with a bit of listener feedback and look forward to next week, when all four hosts (should) be together again!
Thanks again for listening! If you have any questions or just want to chat, let us know on Twitter (@EternalMTG), like us on Facebook (facebook.com/EverydayEternalPodcast), or email (EverydayEternalCast@gmail.com), or in the forum below.

An excellent episode; the judges' perspective was great to hear, and your smooth, velvety alto is as harmonious as always. I've got a question for you all: what are the best mono-colored decks in the format? I've got a running interest in decks that place well while running one color, despite having access to easy and stable color splashes.

merfolck, elves, goblins, monoblue show and tell combo decks, Timespiral/brainfrezecombos, death and taxes, RDW, white prison decks, dragon stompy, green stompy.
While not all T1 otT1,5 defintely fun decks and can squeze some games at local events.
You're welcome.

Elves, Omnitell, and Death & Taxes are the three mono-colored decks in the DtB section of this site, and I'd certainly say they're the strongest mono-colored decks. Of those, I'd play D&T, but I'm also not a huge fan of combo.

Even within the big list of monocolored decks you listed off the top of your head, some are more successful than others. Perhaps a better question would be, what does a monocolored deck need to be successful, and then why would you avoid a splash? Aside from the obvious wasteland, which apparently isn't enough to keep people from running crazy nonsense four color manabases.

In my opinion, Elves, Goblins, Omnitell, and D&T. I think merfolk is really bad.

Listened to this last night. Totally had a good point but I've slept since then so I've forgotten. But yeah good stuff, and I liked all the talk of different things that are witnessed in legacy games

New podcast this week?
I have one idea for an episode/segment: a "Deck Report" episode, mimicking the book report assignment children receive in elementary school education. Each of you guys takes a week (or longer) to play out a Legacy deck very foreign to you and then everyone shares what they learn in an episode. Perhaps you guys can assign each other the deck to play out or you can ask listeners what they think each podcaster should test.

I have a feeling that, if the casters read these articles prior to the recording, the podcast would have gone differently:

New podcast this week?
We're busy putting Episode 7 and 8 together. We hope to release EE 7 by the end of this week, or Monday. EE 8 should be out about a week later.

I have a feeling that, if this poster would understand that we're devil's advocates, the point of the podcast would not be our own education, but the listeners'.

This would be pretty cool. I feel like you learn the most about a deck and how to beat it if you play with it enough.

Feedback on the presentation. I would like to see show notes with accurate rulings on various scenarios discussed. If someone were to stop listening halfway they could be left with inaccurate info on dredge plus sylvan for example. Previous episodes could benefit from more detailed notes as well. The scenarios for therapy could be numbered and listed for listeners to follow along. A minor thing but I think it would add to the polish.
Another good episode. Thanks for putting these together.

Isn't the casters' intention is to mislead listeners with inaccurate info? Their show notes are troll faces pages after pages. The cast is definitely not to educate, is for them to rack up free wins in the future.

That's a good idea. We'll work on enumerating the topics for the show-notes for future episodes. Part of what we're trying to avoid is having to read the notes while also listening. Some people have already indicated it's just easier to put it on while they are commuting and tune in. Regardless, this is our area for improvement. Thanks for bringing it up!

I've been listening while I work, and while notes would helpful, I really wouldn't want them to be necessary.
