Okay, so I haven't bought or read it yet, but that's actually why I'm starting this thread. I saw it over at StarCityGames.com and I am excited about it. It does cost $37.99 though. I thought that through discussion, I could better decide if I should spend my money on it. I don't often have excess cash, so this discussion will assist me in making the decision. Thanks to those who submit helpful posts.

If that 38$ hurt you, save it. I'm pretty sure the book focuses on Standard and most of the Info for deckbuiling concerning Legacy is found in Forums like this one for free.

I have NLM from a few years ago, and Chapin only touches Pro Tour formats. So no, Legacy won't be a focal point in the book. Rather, Chapin is a wealth of knowledge and anything he writes will probably make you better at any given topic.

I'd buy it, but I'm allergic on a "Next level..." phrase, so I'll wait until it'll be in discount stores...

Someone should tell these people that is has not been original/creative/cool in many years. I don't care if the book is about this very topic, name it something else.

I keep waiting for Chapin to next-level the idea of Next Level by copyrighting the phrase "next level".

Then he could write a book about intellectual property and call it Next Level Prior Art!!

There are some pros who are really good at Magic, but no one whose opinion is worth paying for when there's so much available on the Source. And at $40 a pop for an eBook? Good luck with that...

I bought his other book. It's in some bin in my closet. It's a LOT of stories. I'm not sure this one will be much better. At $40, I don't think I want to invest my money for another book of stories about "all his legal targets".

I bought the earlier book, it was actually very interesting read and I enjoyed it very much, even though the deck building wasn't really that helpful. It gave me a new way of thinking about not only magic but in general pretty much everything in my life. If you can find it for cheap, I recommend it. This new book? I'm kind of scared it won't have anything to say about legacy and the price is salty as hell.

Haha, you went there

I did buy a hard copy of his first book. For an e-book though, it's hard to justify paying more than $10-15. I've read life-changing books for under 5 bucks.

It's kind of like Square-Enix charging $20-30 for ports of Final Fantasy and FFT games on iOS. C'mon now...
