I've been working on this for a few days. It's fun. Feels decent. Sucks against combo.

4 Slippery Boggle
4 Gladecover Scout
4 Leonin Arbiter

4 Rancor
4 Suppression Field
4 Ethereal Armor
4 Daybreak Coronet
4 Spirit Mantle
2 Armadillo Cloak
4 Hyena Umbra
1 Spider Umbra

4 Savannah
4 Razorverge Thicket
4 Horizon Canopy
4 Temple Garden
1 Dryad Arbor
1 Karakas

The deck is basically another hatebears deck, packing both suppression field and Leonin arbiter as ways to hate out fetch lands. It's weak to edict effects, so if anyone has any advice on dealing with those, that'd be great.

The deck is designed specifically to hate out metagames where people
Play shardless bug, jund, deathblade, and other deathrite fetch land shenanigans

Finding space for either elvish spirit guide or chrome mox will help speed out a surpression effect on turn one, when you really want to have one. ESG also provides a warm body for edicts, later in the game. Leyline of sanctity in the side will help with both edicts and combo.

I could pull a land and the armadillo cloaks. The cloaks aren't that good tbh, and 3 mana in this deck is nearly impossible. She also allows me to live the dream against shardless bug:

ESG, land, Leonin arbiter pass.4x leyline might do the trick, might not. I'll try them.

This looks like a really fun deck! I think it has a weakness to an early Elesh Norn; have you considered Swords to Plowshares in the main? A lot of Goyfs on the field can also race you, and Mother of Runes seems like she stops you cold, too.

Also, do you have enough creatures for the deck? 12 (plus Arbor) seems a little low. There's Silhana Ledgewalker, or however you spell it, which might be a consideration. Bring it up to 14-15. Though another hatebear would probably be preferable.

And speaking of which, why the 1x Arbor? It seems unusual to include it in a deck without ways to fetch it out. I'd think a basic forest would be more useful.

I'm definitely with Slag on the Chrome Mox. I think if you had another 2-4 prison pieces, then Mox would do wonders for your deck. Chalice of the Void is the only one I can think of right now, though...

Part of the strength of this deck comes from being able to redirect any Lilianas and Innocent Bloods to a fetched out Dryad Arbor. I understand you're attempting to apply pressure by ensuring they can't fetch, but that comes from 2-mana cards that you only have a total of 8 of. With a deck that mulligans as much as this one, that seems to put additional pressure on your opening draws against either an unknown opponent, or opponents using relevant cards in G2 and 3. They could also just have a fetchless draw and do it anyway. The decks don't rely on fetching into a Lili, they can very well just find some lands and kill you the old fashioned way. It is a great way to slow them down, but I'm not sure it's enough, as you're not as fast as some of the other Stompy decks out there.

I was looking into doing this today, and I think that the only card suggestion I have here is Rancor. It powers through things like Linger, and keeps you live once they find an out to your Creature.

Also, it's "Bogle", as in "Bow-gul". Boggle is a crap game.

I was just thinking about hilarious lock pieces I could run, and then suddenly Smokestack .

Also, the great thing about legacy is that I have access to Serra Sanctum. This allows me to abuse the utterly hilarious rancor + smokestack shenanigans. This is probably not a good idea, though.

Also, spirit mantle allows me to get by any rogue tarmos and other creatures, hence why I run no removal.

Also, for some reason I remember typing rancor ino the list when I posted it. Apparently not

Also, I feel like boggle.dec is a cuter name than bogle.dec. :3
If anything, the deck is going to be card Verklarte Nacht, becuase that is what I was listening to while conceiving it.

Phyrexian Revoker might be a lock piece and a creature in one.

Root Maze?

I think part of what YamiJoey was saying was that your lock pieces might not come in handy, depending on what your opponent plays, or even what he happens to draw. I've noticed this with my own experience in playing Aven Mindcensor and Suppression Field - sometimes they hit hard, sometimes they whiff. You can look at it this way: which is more likely to be a beating, Stoneforge Mystic or Leonin Arbiter? Arbiter could get there, but SFM is far more consistent when it comes to what it does to your opponent.
(Just to clarify, not having fetches makes Arbor unfetchable. It's a liability to have a boltable forest in this deck.)
I think the most relevant lock piece in legacy, at CMC2 anyway, is Chalice of the Void, which would destroy your deck. I think, power level-wise, Chalice is more powerful (in Legacy) than Arbiter, and definitely more than Supp Field. I'm not saying change your deck around, but you generally want the most powerful, stand-alone cards in your deck unless you're running a serious combo deck. That said, it does look like a really fun deck, and I think I might want to try something completely different - but with the same concept - at some point. Good luck!

I think you're right. I will be coming back to this deck later, though (and of course running 4x suppression field). Let me know where you get, because I really want to sacrifice rancor to smokestack :D

Blind Obedience is flat better as a lock piece.

LOL @ Rancor-Stax

I would be tempted to play all-in.dec as follows:

//Creatures: 14
4 Slippery Bogle
4 Gladecover Scout
4 Leonin Arbiter
2 Aven Mindcensor

//Mana: 23
4 Razorverge Thicket
4 Savannah
4 Temple Garden
2 Horizon Canopy
1 Serra's Sanctum
4 Elvish Spirit Guide
4 Chrome Mox

//Enchantments: 23
4 Rancor
4 Ethereal Armor
4 Suppression Field
4 Spirit Mantle
4 Hyena Umbra
3 Journey to Nowhere

//Sideboard: 15
4 Leyline of Sanctity
3 Choke
4 Rest in Peace
4 Phyrexian Revoker

---------------------------

Personally I'd be tempted to run a Bant version to get Geist and Spectral Flight as win condition options

//Creatures: 16
4 Noble Hierarch
4 Slippery Bogle
4 Geist of Saint Traf
4 Leonin Arbiter

//Enchantments: 22
4 Rancor
4 Ethereal Armor
4 Abundant Growth
4 Spirit Mantle
4 Suppression Field
2 Spectral Flight

//Mana: 22
4 Chrome Mox
4 Gemstone Mine
4 Savannah
4 Temple Garden
4 City of Brass
1 Serra's Sanctum
1 Karakas

etc... this is kind of a hybrid with Blouses

Screw Goyf, play either Kor Spiritdancer or Argothian Enchantress. Spiritdancer in an aggressive meta or Argothian in a control meta.

so I decided I wanted to drop the suppression field and the whole "fetchlands suck" idea. Because really, who runs more sac-effects than liliana in legacy? Answer: NO DECK.

4 Slippery Bogle
3 Gladecover Scout
1 Gaddock Teeg
1 Qasali Pridemage
1 Scavenging Ooze
3 Green Sun's Zenith
2 Noble Hierarch
4 Ethereal Armor
4 Rancor
4 Spirit Mantle
4 Daybreak Coronet
4 Hyena Umbra
4 Savannah
4 Windswept Heath
4 Verdant Catacombs
1 Dryad Arbor
4 Wasteland
2 Plains
2 Forest
3 Sword to Plowshares
1 Scryb Ranger
SB: 2 Rest in Peace
SB: 2 Mindbreak Trap
SB: 1 Faerie Macabre
SB: 2 Ethersworn Canonist
SB: 2 Enlightened Tutor
SB: 4 Leyline of Sanctity
SB: 1 Oblivion Ring
SB: 1 Nevermore

Just turn 1 GSZ into dryad arbor. It's pretty good.

Looks much better. GSZ is obvious inclusion in the deck.

- why would you ever run less than 8 Bogles?
- one Argothian Enchantress seems like a good GSZ target.
- one Hierarch seems enough. There is nothing to accelerate into. Scryb Ranger could go, too.
- Dryad Arbor + Fetchland deals with Liliana's Edict nicely. Maybe play a second Arbor.
- Wasteland seems not that great because barely any of your spells cost colorless mana. Daybreak Coronet is rough on the mana.
- play a few Horizon Canopy instead. They tap for real Mana and you empty your hand fast and they will get you closer to Coronet / Ethereal Armor.

+ 1 Bogle
+ 1 Enchantress
+ 1 Dryad Arbor
+ 3 Horizon Canopy
- 1 Hierarch
- 1 Scryb Ranger
- 4 Wasteland

I believe you that Ethereal Armor is better. But what's wrong about running both?

If you're not doing the whole fetchlands suck thing, then why not play a Blouses variant?

4 Noble Hierarch
3 Birds of Paradise
4 Invisible Stalker
4 Geist of Saint Traf

4 Rancor
4 Unstable Mutation
4 Ethereal Armor
4 Spectral Flight

4 Spell Pierce
4 Daze
2 Psionic Blast

1 Dryad Arbor
4 Misty Rainforest
4 Flooded Strand
3 Tundra
3 Tropical Island
1 Savannah
1 Forest
1 Island

//SB:
3 Force of Will
2 Flusterstorm
4 Rest in Peace
2 Krosan Grip
4 Spreading Seas

Basically, if you want to enchant hexproof guys and are now allowed to play fetchlands, why would you not just play Bant and run better hexproof creatures like Invisible Stalker, Troll Ascetic or Geist? Manadorks accelerate you into dudes+auras and then serve as fodder for edict effects.

Or you could keep some Bogles in. I just don't see a reason not to run just Bogles and redundant auras instead of running better hexproof guys. If stuck in GW with no fetchlands then it makes sense, but without Suppression Field/Arbiter plan... Can Bogle goldfish on T3? If not, seems like you might as well for Geist to goldfish on T4 and not have to run redundant auras that may be dead cards.

I believe you that Ethereal Armor is better. But what's wrong about running both?

The issue with Ancestral Mask is that it costs 3 and is an extremely conditional pump spell. Any enchantment removal on a Masked creature reads "You gain 2 life" in addition to the normal text. Beast Umbra would probably be a better fit (though still weak) as it also protects from burn and being blocked. Hell, even Vow of Wildness would probably be better in that slot.
