[Spoilers] Theros Cards & Mechanics

MTGSalvation recently released some spoilers of the new mechanics from Theros:

Polukranos, World-Eater 2GG
Legendary Creature - Hydra
Monstrosity - XXG (or XGG - not confirmed), : Put X +1/+1 counters on Polukranos. Then, Polukranos deals damage equal to the number of counters put onto Polukranos this way among any number of target creatures. Those creatures deal damage to Polukranos equal to their power. Activate this ability only if there are no counters on Polukranos.

Heroic - Whenever ~this~ is the target of a spell you control, creatures you control get +1/+1 and gain trample until end of turn.

About the cards: It depends on the wording. If it was X:g::g:, it might have potential in a ramp deck, but XX:g: would be too expensive.

The "Hero" has decent fighter stats, but the heroic mechanic seems downright terrible. Theros is supposed to have an enchantment theme and this should work with auras, but it doesn't make it suck less.
