Best card protectors

So, I know several different peeps use different types of card protectors on their cards. Some will double sleeve and whatnot.

Anyways, the purpose of this thread is because I have a question. I've only ever play casual in a way that I was the only person that shuffled my cards and I never went to a tournament where the other player would be shuffling my deck. I want to protect my cards (Currently running TES, Miracles & Merfolk in Legacy). So here are the questions:


What is the best way to sleeve cards? (Single/Double)
What brand for which sleeves?

Double sleeves, always. Without them the top edges may ruin.

Some people swear to KMC, I had bad experience with them and I ripped over ten of them in one four-rounder.
Ultra-Pro have different sizes even if they're pulled from one pack.
Dragon Shields are the best for me, they hold long, are well made and don't have mixtured hues like Ultra-Pro.

I use KMCs. I seem to have terrible luck in sleeves however. I got some very oddly sized ones that were impossibly difficult to put my double sleeved stuff in. I haven't had any split yet though in any of the ones I have ever gotten. Same with Dragon shields, though with those I got some that were frayed or something and were fucking awful to mash shuffle. Anyway my buddy complained about his pro fits to ultra pro and they sent him like 1000 of them so I just use the 200 he gave me. They split allot, but you can't beat free

Always double sleeved, and I think I've finally found a brand in KMC Mat Series. Every other brand has some flaw that I can't stand. The only thing I have yet to test in the KMC's is their durability.

I like them in Dragon Shields + any Perfect Fits.

Kmc hyper mattes. Literally all the good things about all the major brands combined.

Double sleeved, KMC Perfect Fits inside Dragon Shields.

KMC Perfect Fits inside regular cheapo Ultra-Pros. (It's a very tight fit, but matte Ultra-Pros shuffle really well and are cheap to replace.)
