Does anyone know who is organizing this GP on Nov 15th-17th? I can't find any info except the location itself... maybe it's too early? :eyebrow:

No clue on my end.

I am debating between this even and the Legacy/Vintage weekend the is either the weekend before or after... I have not heard much about either though actually.

Eternal weekend is two weeks before (http://www.cardtitan.com/eternal_weekend).

Tom Shea on behalf of TJ Collectibles is the TO. http://tjcollect.com/

So far http://tjcollect.com/event/magic-grand-prix-dc is just a stub with almost no information. Expect more info later.

I wanna go so bad. It's definitely a hike and a half but I've never played in a GP, and who knows if we ever get another Legacy GP after this. If I manage to win two byes at DHG I'm pretty much obligated to get there somehow.

I'll be there. There's a group from the Canadian Maritimes driving down on Thursday and probably cubing Thursday night in our hotel rooms.

EDIT : Full fact sheet w/ hotels.

I thought that they did an absolute shit job with GP Providence a few years back. The side events were non-existent except for a current set sealed and some standard tournament.

I've heard rumors it's actually at the same location the standard GP for 'DC' was at last time. i.e. in Chantilly VA (near Dulles Airport).

I have no confirmation yet obv, but if that's the case, flying to Reagan or BWI is not a great idea.

Well, it's in Chantilly as far as I know.
Shitty part is my gf want to drive with me in order to visit the museums in DC. How far of a drive/transit is it from downtown?

45 minutes to an hour drive or between 1 hour 15 and 1 hour 45 minutes by metro.

Shitty.
Well, I guess it's up to her at this point.

Have anybody looked at hotels around?

I'm ditching this for eternal weekend, the prize payout is more appealing (vs. entrants, rounds, and entry), and there are 2 events so if Saturday goes poorly there is a big Sunday event. Also, GPDC isn't in D.C. as above, Chantilly is a shitbox. EW is in downtown Philly with tons of bars, Chinatown and Reading Market. Last 2 legacy GPs were 1/2 children who didn't know what Polluted Delta did also ... which is miserable.

Plus side is a GP will get multiple vendors.
