View Full Version : Need help streamlining Doran, the Siege Tower

Hey everybody, thanks for reading my decklist.

Let's jump right in. I should say right off the bat that this is definitely not a treefolk tribal themed Doran EDH deck. I've tried that and have found that many (actually most) treefolk are rather ineffective and, perhaps more importantly, BORING!

The main objectives of the deck are (in no particular order):
1: Get Doran out early (no problem)
2: Give he and his comrades evasion and keep them protected
3: Kill opponents quickly with general damage, non-general damage, and poison counters
4: protect myself from harm while doing the above

The deck features many recurring themes such as indestructibility, evasion, protection from colors, infect, recursion, and (obviously) power<toughness creatures. Here's the list:

I'll take a moment here to list a few of my favorite combos and strategic interactions.
-Jarad's Orders/Survival of the Fittest + Brawn/Genesis/Glory/Filth
-Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth + Filth in graveyard
-Doran, the Siege Tower + Gift of the Deity/Shield of the Oversoul
-recurring Eternal Witness with Phyrexian Reclamation
-Pariah's Shield/Palisade Giant + indestructibility
-using Glory/Shinen of Life's Roar/Filth for mass evasion and alpha-striking a player/players for lethal
-it can be relatively easy to kill players with infect when they're protected, buffed, and given evasion

These are just a few. Also I want to mention how effective Tainted Strike, Triumph of the Hordes, and Ready//Willing are in killing players out of nowhere. Tainted Strike especially yields great shenanigans in multiplayer.

I got you. Put without the period on top of the list and on the bottom. Two cards I think you need are Demonic Tutor and Explosive Vegetation.
