I wish SCG wasn't blocked at work!
Can't wait to read, since you have a long history of producing good articles!

Great article and near and dear to my heart as a storm-player. One thing I have struggled with is when to fire off the Brainstorm without the shuffle effect available. The no-shuffle Brainstorm seems like more of an all-in play when you are close to going off or when you absolutely need to find a missing piece right away (in addition to other ways to use Brainstorm i.e. hiding against discard, using a follow-up cantrip with LED activation, etc.). I tend to hold back a little on my Brainstorms until I'm hit against these situations but perhaps I'm wrong.
:cool:
Glad you wrote this piece.

This is a terrific article that badly needed to be written. I'm tired of players who think cantripping is easy and second guess every time someone doesn't hold their Brainstorms for "value" in aggressive decks.

Hello Carsten,
I ve been reading your articles for a year now, i love them. They simply are the best, this is what i want to read about magic, You are always really insightfull, and this one is no exception. All your articles are enlightening.
Thank you for all the technical details you put out there !
I ll just add a special award for your short story about rug vs storm it was awesome, inspired yet very true to the spirit of both decks, i really enjoyed it. I still have images from it surfacing when i play ant or tes I m looking forward for more.
By the way i m somewhat proud that a fellow european is so much above the other writers in terms of complexity and content. If by any chance we meet, the beer is on me ;)

@kayradis: I hope the article was worth waiting for ;)
@Lemnear: Happy to hear it - and obviously I missed the ASL tournament this time :/
@davelin: Thanks. Your observations about Brainstorm are largely correct, though you need to keep in mind that sitting around doing nothing will also put you behind every turn it happens. I would probably blind-Brainstorm on turn 2 or maybe 3 depending how the game is going (and what the matchup is) in most cases where both sides haven't been playing draw-go.
@Koby: Happy you like it & thanks for the subject matter :)
@lordofthepit: Thanks a lot :)
@joretapo: Thanks a million for such kind words. Happy to you like my work so much :) The short story article was one I liked writing a lot - especially because it was so different from my other work - so that one being appreciated warms my heart particularly :).
I might be at the BoM in Paris this fall, if you happen to be there and see me, feel free to me know who you are!
