Some more stream of consciousness Storm coverage along the lines of "the Storm experience". Enjoy :)

Take a look and let me know what you think!

I enjoy your articles, but could you please write about something else aside from combo again?

Thanks for letting me know, combo-overload duly noted. Expect other subjects in the near future! :)

Possibly examine the three flavors of Delver:

Traditional (RUG)
American Delver (UW/r)
Grixis Delver (UBR)

Obviously using the same core Tempo shell, but the implementation of the game plan varies for each list.
Especially considering that RUG Delver has been the consistent most popular deck over every month.

Haven't had a chance to read the way the games play out, but I appreciate that you continue to write for the Select side every week. Keep it up Carsten!

Great article.

It's always nice to see omni-tell lose too :)

Major props for this article.

In the interest of representing both sides of the argument, I've really enjoyed your combo articles. There's a lot of subtlety to playing a combo deck well, and it's fascinating to see you talking through the intricacies of them.

No such thing as a combo overload, especially considering you're one of the only writers that actually writes about combo (and does a fantastic job btw). This article was excellent - I've never actually played the Storm vs. Omnitell matchup, although I used to have a lot of trouble playing Storm against Sneaky Show back in the day.

I can recount that the matchup is lousy for Storm against decks with Griselbrand. Partly because they will almost never run out of countermagic while pressuring your lifetotal, and padding their own.

I think Omni is quite different in that respect because it's really just a race to who can win through the other's hate more effectively.

One thing these articles (as well as the Storm Experience ones, first one at least seems to have some screwed-up formatting now) could use: Snapshots of our hand, and perhaps what we know of the opponents' at the beginning of our turns. There's a ton of cards changing zones all day, and it's very possible to just lose track at some point. In a normal game, you always have your hand, your notes and your own internal narrative of the match to reference.

Otherwise good stuff as usual.

Good article. I liked the topic and how you wrote about it. There are not only lines of plays but also reasons. For me you can write till the end of time about storm decks but I was wondering how long it will take SCG to suggest to write about something else ;)

Good luck at BOM !

Play-by-Play Storm Report? Dude, that's my territory! ;)

Looking forward to see how we both perform with our storm archtypes. When do you arrive in Paris? We take the plane Thursday morning

@Koby: Good suggestions, I'd probably talk up the BURG deck first as it's quite successful here and still rather underplayed (I think?) in the US.

As for Storm's GriselB matchups, my experience is that Reanimator is pretty terrible, TinFins is bad and Sneak and Show is somewhere between equal and favorable for Storm. Yes deckspeed plus consistency makes that much of a difference, at least in my experience. Omni is easier than any of them, though.

@Underwater guy: Thanks :)

@nodahero: Thanks, happy to hear it :)

@rooneg and Admiral_Arzar: Thanks, happy to hear you enjoyed them! And don't worry, I won't stop writing about combo but if the non-combo players among my audience are fed up, it's time for a break. :p

@Zombie: Thanks! Good suggestion, I'll try to remember doing that next time I write similar articles :) Also, yeah I realized the formatting of the old ones is screwed up, too :(

@Deviruchi: Thanks :) I've actually never had complaints from the SCG side about my choice of topics. Both Cedric and Lauren leave us writers a ton of freedom to choose what we want to write about. They're doing a great job, in all honesty.

Thanks for the good lucks, let's hope they work :)

@Lemnear: Did something like this already before you started your (excellent) heart of the storm series :p
I'll get to Paris Wednesday afternoon already :) Definitely curious who's going to do better - time to see which deck is better positioned this year *g*

Still need to find time to playtest a bit more ... i'm like playing a tourney per month atm which isn't nearly enough to expect any results at BoM

Something that might be interesting, is to see the flip side of a Storm matchup and talk about which hate pieces are
most useful for different decks. Maybe you can discuss for people that don't have a lot of experience playing against Storm how to approach the matchup.

Just a couple of ideas tossed out there for you. Also wouldn't object to a Vintage article if you are up for it. ;)
