This is an old list that won SGC Sacramento awhile back. With the printing of True-Name Nemesis, I thought about revisiting the archetype.
4 Birds of Paradise
4 Geist of Saint Traft
4 Noble Hierarch
4 Qasali Pridemage
4 Troll Ascetic
4 Brainstorm
4 Daze
3 Psionic Blast
2 Spectral Flight
4 Spell Pierce
3 Unstable Mutation
2 Forest
2 Island
4 Misty Rainforest
2 Savannah
4 Tropical Island
2 Tundra
2 Wasteland
2 Windswept Heath
Sideboard
3 Chill
1 Gaddock Teeg
2 Mindbreak Trap
2 Path to Exile
3 Submerge
2 Threads of Disloyalty
2 Umezawa's Jitte
If we're being honest, this deck, as is, is kind of a trainwreck. It did win a large tournament, but I think that had a lot to do with people being completely unprepared for the strategy.
Fast forward to now...
True-Name Nemesis seems like an upgrade to Troll Ascetic [evasive, can be pitched to Force of will (which needs to be included)]. Beyond that, I think Rancor deserves a slot, probably over Spectral Flight, and Deathrite Shaman seems like an upgrade to Birds of Paradise, though the flying of the birds could potentially come in handy. In the end though, I think that the versatility of DRS and the fact that it can effectively block Goblin Lackey give it the nod.
I'll probably throw together a rough list soon and post it here, but in the meantime, what are everyone's thoughts?
