Help with learning the Swiss tournament structure.

Hello,

I'm hoping to gain some more information regarding Swiss style tournaments--particularly those for MTG. Has anyone ever written an article explaining the entire tournament process? In particular I'd like to learn about the number of rounds per player, how wins/losses/draws affect your points, tiebreakers, and figuring out the "tournament math" in regards to ID'ing, making top 8, etc.

Any help would be appreciated!
