Hey fellow sourcers!

Kinda looking for feedback from my recent brewing! Last couple of weeks ive been playtesting this beauty to quite some success! Always wanted to be playing some grixis control deck since the color combination is so dam appealing!

I just wanted a deck that strong vs what was by then the most popular decks at top8 scg ie show&tell + bug cascade//Jund, and just in general strong vs combo since it seemed to be a recent explosion of combo decks lately! I came up with this baby, and been playing it loads vs both showtell, jund, bugcascade, death&tax, u/w miracles, rug delver. It kinda did perform like expected, beeing superstrong vs show&tell + BUG cascade, while beeing somewhat weak vs rug delver and u/w miracles. This is why i need your help, to improve those matchups!

Up until recently most Jund and bug cascade decks had no basics and those matchups could easily be won by just finding a b2b or blood moon, these matchups are also the most annoying to handle as a control deck, since they just have a nice clock and just to much CA. Misdirections also felt like a strong addition since most of these decks play hymns, but also ancestral vision! It's also a great way of defending your important permanents such as CB/B2B, while sometimes the occasional tempo win from rediricting it onto one of their annoying threats!

My next mission was to play something maindeck that was just very strong vs the most OP deck of the current meta IE sneak&show, and the conclusion was Notion thief! This in combo with the many free counterspells and misdirections led me to reforge the soul! As a way of dumping my hand while still beeing able to refill on gas, while non blue decks have bad interaction. This felt synergistic with Devastation tide since i wouldnt really bother when we both have to discard our hand to reforge the soul, only that i just dumped my hand via misdirections//force of wills, meanwhile my opponent has his hand full of gas! Sometimes you can lock a game down with reforge the soul/notion thief combo! But from the times when you will have to reforge your hand without an active notion thief you want the possibility of a combo win! This making burning wish for grapeshot a natural inclusion, since the deck already had 4 SDT to support the miracle cards and CB! The inclusion of helm also makes besides most of the deck especially the burning wishes more efficient! And frankly a big portion of today's meta consist of 1cmc colored spells that dosnt benefit from helm!

Notion thief is on its own very strong vs combo decks + ancestral vision decks, while still beeing mediocre vs other blue decks. With enough early disruption it serves as a great clock vs combo that shuts down all their cantrips! It's also suprisingly strong to put into play via opponent show and tell since it does shut down griselbrand. In this deck it of course can uninterrupted lead to an EOT reforge the soul with 14 fresh cards and an opponent with discarded hand! This most often will lead to combo kill vs the fair decks via 2xtop+1helm+burningwish(grapeshot).

I wanted to post the deck in hopes of getting some ideas on how to help more vs the miracle MU and the RUG delver matchup, since those are the top tier matchups i feel could use some help! This is the reason i added 1 engineered explosives maindeck and also why the sideboard does consist of 2x submerge. I feel mircale with 3x Vendillion just gets ahead for turn 4 where they can drop jace! They also have stronger countermagic backup for their SDT//counterbalance which pretty much wins the game, while your only out beeing EOT devtide to redrop ur own SDT//CB!

Unfortuneatly i dont belive this deck can handle something like dredge without sacrificing to much in the other matchups so i kinda just gave up on that!

Well i feel this archetype is cool, and suprisingly effective, and most importantly different and also in a really sweet colour combination! Who doesn't wanna play burning wish without chalice of extremely boring void in a control shell??

Tellme what you think guys!
