Disregarding gp Washington results, what do you think is the best True name nemesis deck?
The obvious contenders are uwr delver-blade, ur delver, death blade, and bug.
I personally think death blade has best shell for TNN. It can pump it out early, has decent disruption package, and it can win with jtms or batter skull. What are your thoughts?

Anything that runs DRS + SFM + TNN

Why are you disregarding GP DC? That makes no sense.

Because I wanna know what you guys think about what's the best tnn deck in the long run. I know uwr delver won,and people's opinion might be swayed because of it. that deck looks like it was designed for the combo meta.

That's like saying RUG Delver or Merfolk was designed for a combo-meta. Anything considered as "Tempo" or "Daze-Aggro" would fall under that.

I'd say Bant because of Noble Hierarch into True-Name Nemesis; however, UWR Delver does a better job of resolving TNN and not dying before then.

The best true name decks are:

UWR (if you like tempo)

UW or UWb or UWbg (if you like grindblade.dec)

Or GWU Bant (if you enjoyed playing legacy in 2010)

I did not include merfolk because true name doesn't synergize with other merfolk as much as it does with equipment/stoneforge to reliably get it out there.

That makes no sense. x 2

That's 2 strikes.

I play it in UW Blade Control and Merfolk and I like it more in Merfolk. Maybe the UW shell is not the best one for TNN, I hate to be tapped in a controlish deck.
However in Merfolk he is good. I have tested him a lot and believe me, he's great. Casting TNN and then a Phantasmal Image copying it it's almost imposible to beat. Also lords protect him against Golgari Charms and Zealous Persecution.
I think he is fantastic in Merfolks, however people haven't found the optimal build yet (me neither of course).

He is at his best in Merfolk, but Merfolk is a bad deck.

The best deck with TNN is Bant Blade, if Bant can be tuned to beat combo. GSZ+Noble Hierarch+Qasali Pridemage+SFM+TNN are way overpowered together vs. fair decks and TNN mirrors.

if Bant can be tuned to beat combo.

It would be good if you could elaborate more on this...

None of the 5 cards you mentioned does shit about combo...

But that's exactly why he said if it can be tuned to beat combo? None of the fair decks are as strong as that shell which is why it might be the best TNN deck.

I feel like Deathblade should have the tools to be the best TNN deck. It has acceleration. It can make use of TNN as both an attacker and a blocker. Esper just has very powerful cards in general. In practice though, UWR has proven to be the better TNN deck thus far. This is likely telling us that TNN wants to attack and have an aggressive/tempo shell to support it rather than a more midranged one. Having an infinite blocker is great and all, but there are quite a few ways to overpower a TNN that sits there for too long (LoA, SoFI, Craterhoof, fliers, etc).

I think Bant is the best shell for TNN, and I think Bant can be tuned to have a strong combo matchup, but I think it is suffering from collateral damage: I don't want to be running Noble Hierarchs and Dryad Arbors when people are playing Zealous Persecution and Golgari Charm.

I feel like UB team america has the best shell for this. Team america has always needed to land a creature that wasn't killable then just bide time and this is that creature.

U/b delver is my petdeck. There's just so much it can do, so many good creatures and spells to choose from. Tombstalker or Confidant?

Many questions still remain. I think Cavern of Souls for Merfolk is pretty fucking strong.

I'm playing what a lot of people are calling Esper Deathblade with TNN, and I gotta say it's just rediculous. I have two builds, the one I like the best is a Delver version, and I run a single trop for the DRS activations as Tin Fins is in my meta. I first built a bit more of a "control" version with Baleful Strix, but haven't touched it since I built the Delver version. I'm not entirely sure I have quite enough instant/sorceries, but so far it's been good.

I believe TNN is a huge boon to another archetype that has been all but lost in the passing years and growing consistency of 3-c and more lists: Mono-Blue control. I don't think mono-colored decks have what it takes these days for the most part (a few aside, goblins, DnT, Omni-Tell), but I think a UW Control shell could benefit greatly from this True-Named Nemesis. I haven't put anything together, but I think it's a tip-top idea that I'm in the brainstorming part of building. I think it rounds out the 3-slot nicely for CB, and lends itself to either side of a battle (attack/block), as well as pitching to force in a pinch. It's Next-Level Morphling (and I played when Morphling was at it's best; it was scary), and I intend on treating it so. Have my four copies, and I'm ready to truly abuse it. You can check out the Esperblade thread in Developing competitive for my lists, as well as UW Stoneforge thread.

I'd argue /b is the worst color for TNN, because /b gives Tombstalker and Engineered Plauge/Golgari Charm which are the best answers to TNN in the format, and I'd rather use Vendillion Clique or Spirit Tokens in order to have asymetrical threats under Engineered Plague.

U/g/w makes the most sense to me, U/w/r comes 2nd.

Black is played for discard. Pairing discard with counters is Imo one of the strongest disruption suites possible, while giving you a good amount of information. Also, I don't see why you didn't mention Zealous Persecution, a perfect solution to protecting your tnn while killing theirs.

I think that Esper Deahtblade is the best shell for TNN to shine, I think it does the best work in a shell with Deathrite shaman, stoneforge mystic and planeswalkers.
I do very much look at the GP and I think that WUR delver with TNN is a better deck then Esper Deathblade with TNN but I think that TNN is much better and more important in esper Deathblade.

Thinking about it another time Bant blade is probably the best shell for TNN, that's probably also the reason it's the only deck running 4. It has the noble hierarchs and GSZ to play it as early as turn 2 it has the stoneforge mystics to make it game ending it has the dazes and FOW to protect it from getting countered. It has exalted trigger from noble hierarch and quasali pridemage to make it a faster clock. And it has a really good late game which means that leaving it behind to make your opponent unable to attack (while your not attacking as well) will probably give you the best situation at the end. Still I think WUR delver is a better deck I only think it profits less from TNN

UWB seems like the natural combination - Stoneforge Mystic is the ideal card to pair with TNN and you have Thoughtseize to strip away any narrow answers the opponent might have.
