Mike Turian posted an article on Wizards about the return of scheduled events (https://www.wizards.com/Magic/Magazine/Article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/other/12092013/eventsreturn).
Not only will the Legacy Daily Event return with increased frequency, now firing three times per day, there will also be Legacy PE each Friday, Saturday and Sunday!
A premier event will only fire with a minimum of 65 players though... So maybe it's finally time for all of those EV-people out there to commit and buy legacy on Magic Online?
You can find the complete schedule here (http://www.wizards.com/magic/digital/magiconline.aspx?x=mtg/digital/magiconline/calendar/2013).

It sure would be sweet to have regular Legacy events that I could play from home in my PJs but it's a shame that mtgo cards are so expensive. Even a mono colour deck like Death and Taxes is $800+. For that I could buy paper power. :(

That's because Rishadan ports are $100 each. I do agree that modo is expensive but you can pick up a decent deck for much less than $800. My point is that with the new dailies and premiers the EV of legacy goes up by a lot on modo. I just hope we don't get stuck in moment 22 again... people selling their legacycards to bots because the events didn't fire...

I wish they would reprint it as a promo, same thing as LED..

I own the Ports IRL, but can't see myself buying them again at $100..

Im lucky enough to have a friend with most of the cards for Legacy on MTGO in addition to me owning Elves.
I think Ill start to play ANT on MTGO just for the pain in the ass factor

Same here. I own a playset of Japanese ports. I'm not spending $400 on digital Rishadan Ports plus another couple hundred on digital Wastelands. What the hell is wrong with the MTGO market? This makes no sense; none of these "cards" are real!

Complaining about "not real" cards on Magic Online is beating a dead horse, honestly. These cards are more real than you might want to admit/imagine.
While I never actively tried or kept track, winning back your investment over a certain amount of time is a thing. And compared to lots of regions that have poor Legacy representation in their area, is much "more real" than any local tournament.

On top of that, and that's the big part: you will improve as a player. I'd never had won the BoM had I not purchased Elves on MODO in May (?) and playtested my heart out with it. This would have not been possible to the same extent irl.

I'm not saying that MODO prices are completly through-the-roof on a lot of staples, though. But denying the "realness" of cards is just as bad.

I imagine Vintage Masters will include a number of cards which are currently prohibitively expensive on MTGO.

I think we all hope so!

That sure are good news.

I guess the increased Legacy activity in the last 6 months showed them that Legacy is a format worth supporting.

Not the question is: Can we get to fire them? Or better: How long until we can fire them?

65 player minimum for Legacy PE's to fire.

I have no idea how they can make these fire consistently until they find a way to make these staples affordable enough.

I'm probably starting to play again once the holidays start. It was just too much work lately to participate in Daily Events.
