The majority of people I know don't have the income nor the interest to play competitive tournament Legacy. My Pox deck is my prime $ deck but this is the one I've used vs. the less serious player. I was wondering if I could have some input. There's just 2 caveats:

1. Gorgon Theme - I know Smother is better than Killing Glare, but the casual format people I game with don't use super fast Legacy style cmc decks. The cards should fit the isle of the Dead idea seen in the original Clash of the Titans movie lol. That and Gorgon pics are cool too.

2. Budget - No Abrupt Decays or Wastelands please. They're in my Rock and Pox decks respectively, but have no place with people who want to "enjoy" the cheap game, not burn their wallets.

The colors allow enough flexibility to go the fast aggro route, but nobody will play against a combo style deck that murders turn 3.

Presenting, VRASKA'S Assassins

Win Conditions (8)
4 Reaper of the Wilds
1 Visara, the Dreadful
1 Hythonia, the Cruel
2 Vraska, the Unseen

Removal (8)
4 Killing Glare
4 Gaze of the Gorgon

Discard (8)
4 Duress
4 Hymn to Tourach

Land Destruction (8)
4 Rancid Earth
4 Tectonic Edge

Card Advantage (8)
2 Search for Tommorow
2 Phyrexian Arena
4 Treasured Find

Land (20)
8 Swamp
3 Forest
4 Terramorphic Expanse
4 Tainted Wood
1 Urborg (not Yawgmoth's Tomb - excellent defensive utility vs. more foes than I thought)

Sideboard
3 Krosan Grip
4 Oppression
4 Infest
4 Necrogen Spellbomb

Discard and Land kill? Yes, I've noticed i have a passion for it due to Pox, Rock, and Threshold able to interact with opponent's hands and lands. [Thresh using counters instead of hand destruction] The sideboard coupled with the multi-angled disruption allows heavy flexibility depending on opponent. Aggro decks lose Duress & gain Infest. Control decks with draw power lose Rancid Earths for Oppressions / K. Grip. Spellbombs for the occasional 'GY Gimmick'.

Current problems:
1. Mana. Cheap fast mana to bring out a slightly faster Reaper of the Wilds. Dark Ritual don't work :(. Other artifact mana or perhaps more green fetchland spells?

2. Vraska's useless +1. Any cards that force attack? Her other abilities have saved my ass with excellent consistency.

3. Burn. Arena bleeds fast. Vamp nighthawk? :eyebrow:
