This time with a poll

What is the best 3cmc engine for control?
What is the best card to sequence with Jace TMS?
Should the 3cmc slot be dedicated to removal / disruption / card-advantage / draw / board-control?

Deed and lily are very powerful paired with jace. They protect him and put the opponent in a position were it is very hard to get back in the game.

Clique is also really good. Hold up instant speed removal and counters on turn 3 and then cast a clique if your opponent does nothing, tucking away anything that might stop jace and then you have a 3/1 flying creature to chump for jace or provide a clock while jace brainstorms for protection for clique.

I think raw power in vaccum it is going to be Lilly or Deed. However, Clique allows for the most manuevering in a game which can also be super powerful.

The other cards in the list are all powerful in their own right, however they require a bit more set up the aforementioned 3.

The clique if combined with a Karakas, in the vacuum Lili for sure.

- Lilliana may be overrated due to the TNN craze.

- I've totally forgot about Lingering Souls, although I'm personally not a fan of it, at least not in „pure“ control.

- Vindicate – 0% lol. I actually like the card a lot. Probably not a BUG control card, but U/W/x control is a completely differently structured deck, still it's rated extremely low.

- TNN in control? It serves the double function of win-con / board-control, but the interaction with deed and Terminus is questionable.

- Eternal Witness. It's kind of astonishing that Eternal Witness is an all-star in Nic Fit, but a total disappointment in other BUG control variants. Right so?!

Not really. BUG has Snappy, which is mostly the same but cheaper and instant speed.

Does Tangle Wire have any place in control? Theoretically it scales nicely (3cc) and has a positive immediate impact on the game (taps creatures). It's rated very high if you look on the gatherer, but it is only played in fringe decks. I have a hard time evaluating it, so maybe you can help me out here.

Why are Crucible and Intuition in the same poll item?

Good question. Well, I've thought of them as silverbullets (= not as engines). As engines they may not be good enough, because you 1) rely too much on your graveyard, or 2) they simply have diminishing returns (no added value out of two CoW in play), and so on, but as silverbullets they may be particularly strong, e.g. no grave hate, no diminishing returns,...
This poll item represents the concept of silverbullets.
