This is an Idea I've been toying around with for a little while now. I've been wanting to find a way to abuse Curfew since it can hit True-Name Nemesis, but I wasn't sure whether I wanted to go green for Shardless Agent, or black for Gatekeeper of Malakir and the ol bounc/discard shenanigans. In the end white seemed to offer the most deck synergy. The equipment package gives the deck a clock, and stoneforge can be bounced to find more equipment. Flickerwisp can reset a clique, snapcaster, stoneforge, or batterskull, while also being able to offensively reset delvers, vials, "kill" 20/20 indestructable tokens etc. Meddling Mage is always fun with Curfew since you can name the card you make them return if you don't know exactly what they're playing.

Anyways, here's the deck. It's still rough, and I might just break down and play TNN, but this is the list for now.

4 Stoneforge Mystic
4 Spellstutter Sprite
3 Snapcaster Mage
2 Ninja of the Deep Hour
2 Flickerwisp
2 Vendilion Clique
1 Meddling Mage

1 Batterskull
1 Umezawa's Jitte
1 Sword of Fire and Ice

4 Force of Will
2 Spell Pierce
4 Curfew
4 Brainstorm
4 Swords to Plowshares

20 land
4 Tundra
4 Flooded Strand
3 Polluted Delta
3 Scalding Tarn
3 Island
2 Plains
1 Karakas

I was considering dropping snapcasters to go with a vial version of the deck with revokers, a mangara, and more flickerwisp, but I'm going to test this out for now. Also what do you guys think of a 3c version? Esper or Bant could be interesting. Hope you like the deck, thanks for checking it out.

Adding 1 to the main deck for sure. Seems perfect. Great idea!

Also, so many Human and Wizard.
What about Cavern of Souls?

uncounterable Sprite seems strong

It used to be fairly popular in the hay-days of reanimator right after Iona was printed and people were trying to diversify their removal. Newer cards have since out-dated it:

Liliana of the Veil
Phantasmal Image (with previous legend ruling)
Griselbrand (in resp. draw > counter too strong)
DRS
Scavenging Ooze
Rest in Peace
Surgical Extraction

are all better/stronger tools against reanimation and show and tell style decks.

I think I'm going to try out a Venser, he seems like a solid fit for the deck. So here is the current list:

4 Stoneforge Mystic
4 Spellstutter Sprite
3 Snapcaster Mage
2 Ninja of the Deep Hour
2 Flickerwisp
2 Vendilion Clique
1 Meddling Mage
1 Venser, Shaper Savant

1 Batterskull
1 Umezawa's Jitte
1 Sword of Fire and Ice

4 Force of Will
2 Spell Pierce
4 Curfew
4 Brainstorm
3 Swords to Plowshares

20 land
4 Tundra
4 Flooded Strand
3 Polluted Delta
2 Scalding Tarn
1 Island
1 Plains
1 Riptide Laboratory
1 Karakas
3 Cavern of Souls

Also, what do you think about an esper list with cavern harpy and vial for tons of shenanigans? This is a very rough first draft:

4 Stoneforge Mystic
4 Spellstutter Sprite
3 Snapcaster Mage
2 Gatekeeper of Malakir
4 Cavern Harpy
2 Vendilion Clique
1 Meddling Mage
1 Venser, Shaper Savant

1 Batterskull
1 Umezawa's Jitte

4 Aether Vial

4 Thoughtsieze
3 Spell Pierce
4 Curfew
2 Swords to Plowshares

20 land

Cavern harpy + vial in this deck just seems too hilarious not to try out. I'm going to mess around with both lists and let you guys know how it works out.

Curfew is a very fun card. I was playing the following Grixis list online a couple of months ago:

4 - Brainstorm
4 - Cabal Therapy
4 - Curfew
4 - Gitaxian Probe
4 - Lightning Bolt
2 - Spell Pierce
1 - Spell Snare
2 - Unearth

4 - Young Pyromancer
4 - Snapcaster Mage
2 - Counterspell
1 - Fire//Ice

2 - Vendilion Clique

1 - Venser, Shaper Savant

4 - Island
1 - Mountain
1 - Swamp
3 - Volcanic Island
2 - Underground Sea
1 - Badlands
4 - Polluted Delta
4 - Scalding Tarn
1 - Riptide Laboratory

sideboard
2 - Red Elemental Blast
1 - Relic of Progenitus
3 - Surgical Extraction
4 - Force of Will
1 - Deathmark
4 - Baleful Strix

It is a lot of fun to play. You can really do some silly things. My biggest issue with the deck is that you do all these silly things and make the cool plays and then end up with some marginal advantage that can be wiped out by the opponent playing something more powerful. Also it seems not that good to play a deck where all your creatures have 1 toughness as you run into quite a bit of incidental True-Name Nemesis hate.

I think I would probably take out the red. Young Pyromancer is cool but it doesn't have synergy with Curfew.

Also, what do you think about an esper list with cavern harpy and vial for tons of shenanigans? This is a very rough first draft:

You answered it yourself. If Esper and Harpy + Vial means you lose 2 of the best cards in the game (Brainstorm and Force of Will) then it may be the wrong choice just to support cuteness. I mean, on-color you have Momentary Blink and Cloudshift and Otherworldly Journey and they're a lot cheaper and simpler than setting up Vials and bouncing your own creatures and adding a 3rd color just to double up on ETB triggers. I mean, you're using Cavern Harpy as a poor-man's blink, so just blink already.

I think staying UW is fine, you get to play utility lands as a reward for staying solid 2-colors.
I wouldn't consider Flickerwisp because without Vial it is a sorcery-speed Blink effect that will be easily neutered by shooting the creature it is aiming to in response to its trigger.
In Death and Taxes, it is worthy because you never know if an active Vial at 3 may load it and screw your plans; in this context, it would be way weaker.

Instead, I would consider another recent card that seems to be tailor-made for this type of deck, which is Deputy of Aquittals:
- 2-drop, thus affordable;
- Flash;
- Pitches to Force;
- Good body, doesn't die to Zealous Persecution/Golgari/Charm;
- Her trigger is a "may" clause, which means she won't bounce itself if she's the only creature on the field.
- Works with Spellstutter at 4 mana;
- Ambushes Deathrite Shaman;
- Useful to get rid of Liliana quickly if Shaman's on the way.

Restoration Angel was the other card that deserves a good look, but 4-cmc is really heavy in Legacy, especially with all the Dazes running around lately. I'd rather have Venser as the only top-heavy choice. She isn't a Wizard neither.

@4 Curfews: 4 are too many. Don't forget it is a card-disadvantage removal, taken alone without a creature with etb on our part. I'd just stick with 2, you don't want to see many of them, just enough to allow your tricks a few times (maybe with the help of Snapcaster) during the game. I'd rather have those 2 additional slots become Ponder, which is all-around good card.

This is what I'd run, roughly:

CurfeWiz 1.0

2 Cavern of Souls / (Mutavault)
1 Karakas
1 Riptide Laboratory
2 Tundra
4 Flooded Strand
5 Island
1 Plains
3 Scalding Tarn
1 Arid Mesa

2 Deputy of Acquittals
2 Snapcaster Mage
2 Vendilion Clique
4 Spellstutter Sprite
4 Stoneforge Mystic
2 Meddling Mage
1 Venser, Shaper Savant

1 Umezawa's Jitte
1 Batterskull
1 Sword of Fire and Ice

4 Swords to Plowshares
2 Curfew
4 Force of Will
4 Brainstorm
2 Ponder
2 Spell Pierce
2 Spell Snare

This deck seems really well-balanced and worth a shot. I fear it may not keep up with the raw power of several archetypes as of now (Jund/BUG are the first), as well as decks entirely devoted to board advantage (Death and Taxes), but I like such kind of decks filled with micro-synergies and tricks.

Thanks for all the help guys! I think you're all right that it's wise to keep it u/w. The mana base will be much better, and it seems like those colors go best with the theme.

I really also like Deputy of Acquittals. Seems perfect for the deck. I'm throwing a few weird decks together in the next week or 2 and I'll do some testing and let you guys know how it works out. This seems like it would be a lot of fun to play.
