Back to Legacy this week - turning the spotlight towards a couple of decks that aren't among the big players:

Enjoy! :)

Nice article, but you put a single copy of the actual card Solidarity into my list. XD

But yes, a fun article nonetheless.

I am humbled by your kind words.

FWIW, I don't think the Painter deck is a good choice in the SCG meta right now due to two variations of Delver decks performing well. The Painter/Welder deck has trouble with Lightning Bolts and flying nacatls.

Also, credit is due where credit is due: the list was modified from Jacob Hilty (merfolkofpt) T8 showing piloted by Nam Tran at SCG Cleveland OH from Oct 2013.

Did someone mention Solidarity as a viable choice in today's meta? Dammit man, don't get my hopes up :(

@Solidarity in Solidarity: Seems like a brilliant troll - that wasn't in the list I submitted *grin*

@Koby: You earned it - seeing you win on turn two through Path to Exile during that Modern GP by casting Fury of the Horde was probably the coolest thing of the whole coverage *g*. Also thanks for sharing the credit/genesis - I'll make sure to include it if I talk about the deck again. You could however have kept the darned LED in the deck - now some of my commentary makes no sense ;) (I'm used to a different list, I have no idea whose, that had LED but used yours because a) you did well with it lately and I remembered were to find it and b) I'm rather sure you won't play anything totally embarassing ;) )

@Tammit67: I sure hope it is, I'd love to see someone pull of the "in response you're dead" in an SCG Top eight under the camera. :p

I ran a very similar list to Nam Tran and Koby however, mine ran LEDS and it was at the Indy GP like 2 years ago... so I doubt it was me

According to mtggoldfish.com, Imperial Painter is doing very well on MODO's Legacy list right now. No. 5 deck by volume of T8s, but that's down significantly from last week, when it was No. 1 by the same metric. Imperial Recruiters are apparently like $5 online, so I'm guessing novelty and surprise probably catapulted it.
