Empire Central will be hosting a Saturday Power Series in 2014! In February through October, Empire Central will be hosting Legacy Events that will be GUARANTEED to award a piece of Power to the 1st place finisher! Top 8 players will also be awarded prizes, and on October 25th, we will
be awarding 1st place with a BLACK LOTUS! At the end of the series, we will be awarding top performing and loyal players with additional prizes as well! The Power Pieces will correspond as follows:
Entries will be $30, and the power is guaranteed to be awarded! Top 8 additional prizes are also guaranteed to be awarded.
In addition to awarding 1st place finishers with a piece of power, that player will also win FREE entry into the October tournament ($30 value),
where a Black Lotus will be awarded to first place! The entire Top 8 will receive prizes as well, in the form of store credit:
2nd $75
3rd-4th $45
5th-8th $30
For a total of $2565 in entries and additional store credit awarded over the course of the tournament series!
Player Points System:
Players will receive points based on their finish. In addition, players will earn X points for entering a tournament, where X is the number of
tournaments in a row a player has entered. If a player enters 3 tournaments in row, the first tournament will award 1 point, the second will
award 2 points, and the third tournament entry will award them 3 points, resulting in the player earning 6 points for entering 3 tournaments in
a row! (1 + 2 + 3, etc.)
Players will also earn additional points for finishing well! Those finishes will award points as follows:
1st 8
2nd 6
3rd-4th 4
5th-8th 2
9th 1
At the end of the season, the Top 4 Finishers in the points race will win prizes! The prizes are as follows:
First Place
4x Underground Sea (Revised)
Second Place
4x Force of Will
Third PLace
$150 in-store credit
Fourth Place
$100 in-store credit
For a total of $1230 in additional prizes for the best performing players!
Bringing the total for our Saturday Power Series events awards to over $10000 in prizes guaranteed!
BUT WAIT!! THAT'S NOT ALL!
Empire Central will also be running a Sunday Standard Series on the days following our Saturday Power Series events! These tournaments will also be
$30 to enter, with a guaranteed $500 prize pool (minimum 16 players). These tournaments will be top heavy in prizes, allowing players to profit
handsomely for a solid performance on the day:
1st $250
2nd $125
3rd-4th $60
5th-8th 10 Boosters
For a total of $5225.40 in prizes being awarded over the course of our Sunday Standard Series!
Additionally, every player who enters will receive a Booster Pack of the most recent Standard-legal set released!
Which brings us to a total of $15,435.40 in prizes awarded over the course of the year for our Saturday and Sunday Series!
