So nothing happened with Spirit last weekend. I was going to go to SCG Somerset with this spicy brew, but the weather isn't cooperating.

4 Spirit of the Labyrinth
4 Dark Confidant
2 Bloodbraid Elf
4 Tarmogoyf
4 Deathrite Shaman

4 Swords to Plowshares
3 Punishing Fire
2 Abrupt Decay
3 Thoughtseize
3 Hymn to Tourach
4 Liliana of the Veil

4 Grove of the Burnwillows
3 Wasteland
2 Scrubland
2 Badlands
2 Bayou
4 Verdant Catacombs
2 Bloodstained Mire
4 Polluted Delta

SB: 3 Pyroblast
SB: 2 Duress
SB: 2 Surgical Extraction
SB: 2 Diabolic Edict
SB: 1 Grafdigger's Cage
SB: 2 Zealous Persecution
SB: 3 Krosan Grip

Maybe someone else will take it out for a spin?
As far as match-ups, it's quite similar to Jund, with the bonus that you should crush the TNN decks and the Delver decks now. Combo match-ups also get better. D&T and Blood Moon decks are harder, but I think it's a worthwhile trade-off. Also, the manabase is surprisingly fine as most people spend time wasting Groves instead of my other lands that actually cast spells. Plus, DRS = cheating.

I don't hate it, but lets get real. You are running white. Bloodbraid into Stoneforge = INFINITE VALUE.

When you're playing Confidant, your goal is to just kill them quickly after stabilizing and taking control. Tarmogoyf, Spirit and BBE do this better than SFM. I think SFM + Spirit is better in a Junk shell. I personally like Jund more.

Played this last night going 3-1 with a couple changes:

-1 StP
-1 Spirit

+2 BBE

-1 KGrip
+1 Seal of Primordial

The deck felt very strong, easily running over U based tempo decks. My loss was to cloudpost, which seems pretty hard to beat. I think going forward I will be going down to 3 BBE to replace that StP.

Yeah, the Delver/TNN decks are good match-ups. Decks like Cloudpost and Lands are almost unwinnable though. It's actually okay vs. Griselbrand decks and Storm.

What is BBE?

What is BBE?

Bloodbraid Elves

@Akatsuki: Do you find the Delver match ups that good? I would think that stressing your manabase into a 4 color one would make you even worse off against Wasteland / Stifle (although admittedly, Stifle is in a downswing right now).
