This is a deck that started with a friend telling tales of how hard he got people with Hidden Gibbons and Hidden Herd once upon a time. I decided to try and make a deck with these cards that wouldn't be completely terrible, and after numerous iterations ranging from a Nic Fit build to a strange-looking list with four sinkholes and maindeck surgical extractions to try and run LD, I've ended up with what is probably the most generic of the lists, but hopefully also the least terrible (except maybe for the Garruk, just because I like the card and figured I'd throw it in, as long as I'm brewing what's probably jank).
Barrel 'O Monkeys
4 Hidden Herd
3 Hidden Gibbons
4 Tarmogoyf
3 Deathrite Shaman
2 Dark Confidant
2 Liliana of the Veil
1 Garruk Relentless
1 Sylvan Library
2 Dismember
3 Disfigure
2 Diabolic Edict
2 Abrupt Decay
1 Golgari Charm
1 Maelstrom Pulse
1 Pernicious Deed
4 Thoughtseize
3 Hymn to Tourach
4 Wasteland
4 Bayou
4 Verdant Catacombs
2 Windswept Heath
1 Marsh Flats
2 Mishra's Factory/Treetop Village
2 Forest
2 Swamp
SB of maybe stuff:
Sinkhole
Chains of Mephistopheles
Surgical Extraction
Nimble Mongoose
Tombstalker
Grafdigger's Cage
more Garruk Relentless
more Pernicious Deed
more Golgari Charm
more Abrupt Decay
Leyline of the Void
Faerie Macabre
Mindbreak Trap
So what do you guys think? Can a playable deck be made from this, or is it just doomed due to the whole "Not only are the threats conditional, but also their conditions depend on your opponent's actions instead of your own" thing? Is only 2 Bobs far too few? To many 1-ofs and 2-ofs for a deck with poor selection?
