MTGS Salvation is a joke

Hey guys, longtime MTG player here. I was a member of the MTGS forums for over four years and recently got permabanned there by the admin, Galspanic. I had an issue with another staff member on the site abusing his powers so I PMed Galspanic asking if I could call him and speak to him personally about the problem. Galspanic's cell phone # was listed on his profile.

Galspanic then perma banned me for "threatening staff." He claimed that asking to call him was a "physical threat" and banned me without hesitation.

That place is a joke. Hoping that the community here is better.

Also don't even say your deck has better than a 10% win percentage against Thunder Bluff, and remember that Chub Toad is the ultimate Hate Bear/Beater/Win Con/Utility Creature and you're good to go.

I wish I had a dollar for every person who gets banned from MTGSal and seeks refuge here. I would have a few bucks. You know...for a burger or something. But yeah. It's good not to get too emotionally invested in an account there. They have a lot of mods and some are bound to be the wrong sort of personality to have power over their peers like that.

Seriously though, welcome to The Source. The grass actually is greener on this side. Some people are dicks, but the moderation here is very minimalist and reasonable.

If its known you play legacy you become a marked target because their modern admins have such inferiority complex that they assume you're going to hate on modern. The legacy portion of that site is dead because they've bullied the Legacy guys out.

There are moderators on MTGS who genuinely try to do a good job.

Then there are those who act like the awkward 5th grader who got the job of hall monitor because no one else wanted it, but nonetheless feels entitled to go on a power trip over an perceived infraction.

The new member-converted-mods here have the tendency to make Salvation like heavy handed moderation based on their personal views but I'd say the core mods are great, you shouldn't have any problems.

Modern mods like to edit others' non-inflammatory posts to insert their own opinions, if the original post reveals an unsavory truth about the Modern format. The Legacy mods seem like good people.
