Does Legacy have much or any presence in China?

Specifically Shanghai Area.

I know Hong Kong and Tawian does so I would assume Shanghai is also true.

Hi, I don't live in shanghai. But as far as I know, many people play legacy in shanghai, the metagame is health, and you will find lots of decks.

but in Guangzhou, there's a crazy host organizing legacy tournament every week. it's held in card store "XiaoWanTong". the address is here http://tieba.baidu.com/p/1840652086

Legacy is near dead here in HK although we have around 8 players which is always better than none.

We hold proxied events just to have more people join in the format.

China on the other hand has a healthier scene.
My buddies in my playgroup are planning to go to Guangzhou to join in one of their weekly legacy event.

We were told around 12-14 join regularly so it will be good.

If ever anyone will find their way in HK, msg me so I can organize something :)

no Vintage scene here unfortunately although a few people have the cards needed for some decks.

haven't seen any event though.

the event you mentioned has been questioned by the people in my group as well.
it's kinda impossible that a legacy event will be organized here in HK and we will not hear about it since HK is pretty small and the community is quite small as well.

maybe the event was held in China, Shenzhen or Guangzhou perhaps.

PTQs here cannot even reach 100 people.
GPTs top at around 20.

so a 193 player event in any format held in HK (except the GP itself) has a big question mark on it.

Guangzhou is your best bet. They have regular Thursday night Legacy casual and weekly tournament every Sunday. (Except Prerelease weekend, they do Vintage instead.) Everything is in our tournament site: http://www.mtgta.com

This weekend, 6/29, Guangzhou is having the semi-annual tournament @ Xiao Wan Tong. Great prize with low entry free. There will be a lot of people going. You guys definitely should go.
