I might be able to help it fire next week depending on the time. I'm going to make a modo account sometime this week since one of my friends has offered to lend me a deck so I can grind legacy online. I'll he happy to play with you guys soon!

EDIT: My laptop is kind of broke today. Had to take it to a repair shop. I am not sure when it will be fixed but it might not be in time for the next Legacy premiere event. Should hopefully be in time for the one after though. Currently using a relative's laptop to edit this post.

When exactly is this MTGO Premier Legacy event? Might play in it if I am not out for the day and get back in time. The new MTGO site seems to have knocked out the page that google returns when looking for the MTGO schedule.

Didn't launch but it feels good to be listened. This time people stayed in the queue. I guess the schedule is just too horrible, but I and many others have already asked wizards to change it. It's not that high value from what I heard so it's not that big of a deal.

By the way for people not playing on MTGO, we are just talking about big tournaments with top8s. The highest value events which are the dailies (four round tournaments) and launch several times a day always start now. It is also now the best time to come on mtgo since with vintage masters, prices are at their lowest (20$ for fow, 14$ for Usea, 7$ for bayou, 8$ for tropical island etc...).

So come join in right now if you were hesitating already.

Is it worthwhile to join MTGO over just playtesting decks I already own on Cockatrice?

I understand there is actual tournament support and prize support, but I really just play Magic online to test ideas for in-person tournaments. Cockatrice lets me do that already for free, and the interface is actually as good as or better than MTGO's (which is a bad piece of software).

Even though the software is god-damn aweful and I don't want to give it too much credit, but I think I can attribute most of my success over the last year to getting in just more and especially more competitive games on MODO than one would ever be to get on any other platform.

MODO is highly competitive and you can (and most likely will at some point) face top-tier players from around the world, instead of Random Scrub #57 playing his crappy UB Mill deck. Since there's essentially money on the line, people don't screw around alot.

I second Julian. The competition and regular practice is going to make you a better player. Going back to Cockatrice when MODO went down was a pretty jarring experience in terms of player quality where you even have to argue with people about basic interactions.

Because of VMA it is "a lot" cheaper atm. I think it's 600-900 tix/dollars, depending on build, for Miracles now.

I am wondering, to those who already play modo, what's the deal with the server switch coming up soon? Are people's collections going to be transferred in the process or will everyone have to start from scratch? Also, do we know when exactly this is going to happen?

As far as I know, you simply can't access the server with the old V3 client anymore. The beta client should work as usually, unless I'm mistaken.

From what my friend just told me What I've heard about server switch from others is probably just how Wizards is forcing everyone to switch to the new client like you said Barook in July or August. If I ever find some sort of official source that provides clarification on this I'll post it.

I registered on MTGO last year, but today was the first time I bought cards. I got a playset of all the duals, as well as Force, Lion's Eye, Ancient Tomb, Jace and some other stuff. Vintage masters made me spend almost 450$ on MTGO without entering a single draft.

Now we just need a reprint of Wasteland, fetches, Port, Liliana, Confidant and Goyf.

Confidant is about 30 bucks each, so it isn't that drastic. Goyf and Liliana aren't going to reprinted that soon and Khans might have an artifact theme if Darksteel Citadel and Shrapnel Blast in M15 are any hints, so not fetches.

Wastelands might happen sooner or later as promos. Once Ports gets a promo, its value is going to be destroyed, but I doubt Wasteland is going to be cheap due to the insane demand. It might drop to about 70 tix each after the promo release, just to rise up again, like FoW did before.

Also, holy crap at the latest daily. 52 people is alot for Legacy.

Of course this is only true for events with entry fees. Tournament practice is pretty much the same as Cockatrice with slightly more competitive decks and a rules engine. People regularly quit after losing a game.

Anyway, I'm about to complete my UR Delver on MODO (currently tilting people with Solidarity) and look forward to actually get to play after watching my local scene on a decline to pretty much non-existence. :frown:
