I had a playset of Krark's Thumb and decided to build a deck around it. Here's is where it's at so far. Feedback is always welcome, thanks!

The main win conditions are Fiery Gambit, Goblin Bomb, and Game of Chaos. Secondary win condition is through Chance Encounter. With all of these cards it's critical that Krark's Thumb get out as quickly as possible to increase my chances of winning each flip.

// Main
3x Chance Encounter
2x Contagion Clasp
2x Spell Pierce
3x Fiery Gambit
2x Game of Chaos
4x Frenetic Efreet
2x Goblin Bomb
4x Island
4x Krark's Thumb
2x Lotus Petal
2x Magosi, the Waterveil
1x Maze of Ith
3x Merfolk Looter
10x Mountain
3x Muddle the Mixture
3x Planar Chaos
3x Phyrexian Revoker
4x Steam Vents
3x Stitch in Time

// Sideboard
2x Turn // Burn
2x Chalice of the Void
2x Red Elemental Blast
2x Game of Chaos
2x Mirror Gallery
3x Pyroclasm
2x Squee's Revenge

In all honesty, if you wanted to make this deck competetive or viable, I'd actually just go with Chance Encounter and that one efreet... I think it's Frenetic Efreet, something like that, it's essentially an instant win your next upkeep. (Rest of that deck is just bad, even with Krark's Thumb)

If you did cut it down to just the Efreet and Chance Encounter for your combo, then you could easily go with a stompy shell with Ancient Tombs, City of Traitors, Trinisphere, and Chalice of the Void. Maybe even include Moon effects if you feel ambitious.

Thanks for the feedback, butI had thought that Frenetic Efreet was changed such that it no longer combo'd with Chance Encounter. You can still announce a bunch of coin flips, but the efreet must be in play for you to actually make the flip. Which means you only get one flip. Am I mistaken here?

Now that I've thought of it a bit more, I think I may pull Chance Encounter completely and replace it with Squee's Revenge.

I haven't heard anything, did they errata it? My understanding is that you can respond infinite times to each flip, when it resolves from the stack regardless if Frenetic is in play you'd still get to flip the remaining coins, and Chance Encounter doesn't require that you win just flip the coins. I'll have to check on that. I know Frenetic Sliver has to be on the battlefield... maybe you're thinking of that?

Yeah, I just re-checked the card and they did indeed change it. It now says, "0: If this creature is in play, flip a coin. If you win the flip, remove this creature from the game and return it to play under its owner's control at end of turn. If you lose the flip, sacrifice it."

http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=3535 has the correct and up-to-date oracle text. Not sure where you were looking, but it seems to be outdated.

I was using an app on my phone. Must be pulling from an outdated source. Good news though, looks like this will work out as expected then. Thanks!

Ral Zarek's ultimate doesn't have you "win" flips, so it doesn't work with Chance Encounter/anything that cares about winning or losing flips.

Also, I'd consider running Final Fortune just so you don't give your opponent an untap step when you go off. I was working on a deck similar to this as a side project, though it was more a combo control deck with the Frenetic Efreet/Chance Encounter combo the main win con. Never got much past the planning stages though.

Off the top of my head, I'd maybe run something like:

// Lands - 19
4 Scalding Tarn
4 City of Traitors
4 Ancient Tomb
3 Volcanic Island
2 Island
2 Mountain

// Spells - 41
4 Chance Encounter
3 Frenetic Efreet
3 Final Fortune
3 Blood Moon
4 Magus of the Moon
4 Imperial Recruiter
4 Force of Will
4 Brainstorm
4 Intuition
4 Phyrexian Revoker
4 Spell Pierce

// Sideboard - 15
3 Pyroblast
3 Grafdigger's Cage
3 Ensnaring Bridge
2 Sulfur Elemental
2 Chalice of the Void
2 Pyroclasm

I like your take on it. I'm mostly running Ral for the Goblin Bomb and for the additional draws. I hadn't considered the Revoker though and may sub out Ral for it.

This deck needs to be called Lucky Duke.

I'd maybe call my version "Imperial Gambler".
