Here's the first draft of a deck that's not quite Team Italia, not quite Zombardment, and likely not quite good:
4 Arid Mesa
3 Badlands
2 Bloodstained Mire
4 Marsh Flats
1 Mountain
1 Plains
3 Scrubland
2 Swamp
1 Undiscovered Paradise
4 Cabal Therapy
4 Faithless Looting
2 Lightning Bolt
1 Reanimate
2 Swords to Plowshares
3 Thoughtseize
4 Lingering Souls
1 Vindicate
3 Goblin Bombardment
3 Blood Artist
4 Bloodghast
4 Dark Confidant
4 Young Pyromancer
Sideboard:
1 Darkblast
3 Duress
3 Pyroblast
1 Wear // Tear
3 Thalia, Guardian of Thraben
2 Zealous Persecution
2 Oblivion Ring
I couldn't find an existing thread that fit this idea, so I made one. Anyway, my thinking with this is I want to take advantage of some good synergies while also playing creatures that are fairly reasonable on their own (other than Blood Artist, obviously). Hence so Carrion Feeder, which I like in general but has been pretty disappointing in practice when I've tried Zombardment. Also the inclusion of Young Pyromancer means the deck doesn't totally roll over and die to graveyard hate. In the absence of graveyard hate, though, there are some good syngeries, like Young Pyromancer + Cabal Therapy.
As I said this is just a first draft, and likely not ideal. I'm open to any ideas/criticisms/whatever.

I like the idea of blood artist + Young pyromancer. being able to just the elementals into blockers seems sweet.
Not sure if there is still enough to run goblin bombardment to great succes?
While Mizer reanimate is sweet, I would myself try Unearth in that slot.
Imo Zealous Persecution is maindeckable in the deck.
Sweet idea , will propably try your list later today!

Maybe drop a single planeswalker in there?
Ajani Vengeant
Sorin, Lord of Innistrad
Elspeth, Knight-Errant
All three of these could be good.

When it comes to Planeswalkers, wouldn't Liliana be an even better choice, particularly with Bloodghasts and Lingering Souls in the deck?

It's definitely just a rough first draft, so a lot of the choices may not be right.
My thinking with Reanimate was that being able to target the opponent's graveyard makes it better, because using it to get even a Goyf could be huge. I could be wrong though, of course.
What would you take out for the Zealous Persecution?

I tried to play around 10 matches with the deck durring these couple of day. Only changes I made was -1 Bloodghast + 1 zealous persecution in main.
And for sideboard: -1 thalia - 1 darkblast -2 oblivion ring + 2 swords to plowshares + 2 Ashen Rider
Dont know if the changes made the deck for better , but maindeck persecution stole 2 games (1 from TNN getting equipped by batterskull, 1 from goblins)
I left the Reanimate in for funzies , and actually it was quite good. I overlooked the card a lot. Managed to thoughtseize a griselbrand from Sneak and show , then reanimate. Definately strong play. while just reanimating young pyromancer is still affordable life loss in grindy games. Cycling for 2 is way worse than the upside reanimate gives sometimes , you were right on this.
My thoughts after little testing:
I Think Deck loses a lot by not playing Deathrite shaman or Stoneforge mystic.
I love Pyromancer , Blood artist , Thoughtseize, lingering souls , cabal therapy alliance! But as fun as the deck is , I would just rather play those with Stoneforge mystic , deathrite shaman and couple of bitterblossoms.
Overall I got destroyed by disconnected draws. Was really rare that i got a match where atleast 1 game was not totally ruined by unclassed bad draws. Land fllood or just bloodghasts and thoughtseizes when they already have a delver out.
Pros:
- Young Pyromancer + Blood artist engine! The clock young pyromancer can present basicly alone is awesome, when paired to Blood artist. You stop caring about the blockers (and soon you stop caring for even non terminus boardwipes)
-Fun deck with lots of little interactions / synergies
Cons:
- Its not blue. when deck has this much things going on. its sometimes really a mess when you get the disconneted draws. Sadly faithless looting alone is not enough cantrips and card selection imo. Zombardment is suffering from same problem.
- Too many cards are just not good enough on its own. Faithless looting , Bloodghast , Blood Artist , goblin bombardment mostly imo. This leads to problem where we are in really big trouble vs decks such like Esper Deathblade , Shardless bug or delver decks. If they get to trade cards as they wish with you , you are left with absolutely nothing. (I played 2 matches vs deathblade and managed to steal 1 game with absolute nut draw vs their weak draw)
- Weaknes to deathrite shaman

Thanks very much for your input and effort! I'm going to keep working on it, though I realize it won't be tier one.

I suggest just full out B/R Sligh control, just throwing out some ideas:
- Goblin Guide
- Keldon Marauders
- Dark Confidant
- Eidolon
- Yount pyromancer
- Hellspark Elemental
- Lightning Bolt
- Chain Lightning
- Bump in the Night
- Sign in Blood
- Blightning
- Thoughtseize
- Goblin Bombardment
- Unearth
I dunno, I sorta like how this way the deck has definite synergy with bombardment & unearth, but it's not so comboey. Each card's gonna have more value on its own where sometimes things like Bloodghast or even StP could be dead draws, here its more attack, burn, go.

Is this just a worse Burn or Zoo? I do like the idea, though. Guide seems detrimental to the Blightning plan, and a lot of creatures seems to go against Young Pyromancer wanting a lot of instants and sorceries. Maybe a creature package of Grim Lavamancer, Bob, Young Pyromancer, and ??. Then have the burn and hand disruption spells. I would still want to keep Bloodghast if Bombardment is staying in the deck, though.

Not really either. With mono black you get hand removal and draw, so maybe a slower more controlled sligh MU going up against blue. I don't think this deck can compete with Zoo preboard, but you'd be able to SB in things like Perish or Dystopia that can be very troublesome (anyone play zoo still?). I dunno, there's not a lot of good reasons to do anything outside of Established decks tbh these days, unless it has serious power, a lot of these New Dev decks are cuter/slower concepts that some other deck does better, it's the truth. Anyways...
I guess you could keep Bloodghast... I dunno, I don't want to hate on the card cause it used to be a pet card of mine a while back. Problem is that it doesn't have an immediate effect:
ie. take Keldon Marauders, it ETB and immediately has an effect, you can attack/block with it, then sac it with bombardment... so you're guaranteed 3 damage + 3 (attack)/or block goyf/piledriver etc. , and Unearth is pretty beastly with it.
Bloodghast you don't even get to block with it, and if this was pre-M10 and you could "damage on the stack" then sac for 1 it'd be infinitely better, in fact the whole concept of bombardment seems outdated because of that lol. I seriously wish sligh had a M14 version of Ghitu Flireslinger for only 2 cmc, that'd be perfect. You can run lavamancer but again, its more of a recurring value, bombardment just wants immediate value creatures that you don't care to get rid of.

I tried this in a small live tournament yesterday and it became pretty clear to me that a deck full of x/1 creatures isn't the best place to be in today's meta (unless of course those creatures are green and are enabling a turn 3 Craterhoof Behemoth). The existence of True Name Nemesis is a real problem for this type of deck because it means there are more Zealous Persecutions, Golgari Charms, etc out there. Also, you have to be pretty far ahead to beat an active Jitte. As much as I like this style of deck and some of the syngergies happening here, it's facing a severely uphill battle, unfortunately. I'll probably scrap this for now.
