I was watching the spoiler thread during a break earlier today and one of my colleagues catched me while doing it.

Turns out he played Magic ages ago as well, and has some really old stuff - Legends, Arabian Nights and German FBB, among other things. He brings his collection along in the next few days, so I can skim through it and also check the condition on the cards.

From what I've gathered so far, he seems to have Karakas, several FBB German Duals (Volcanic Islands, Plateau, maybe some more) and probably some other goodies. Aside from the obvious Eternal staples, are there any valuable cards worth noting?

He also asked me to help him sell his cards since he hasn't any use for them. What's the best platform to do so?

I'd say make a spread sheet and go onto MOTL. You can either piece it out, or I'm sure someone would buy it all in one shot

The prices in the EU and US are roughly the same (fbb duals might be a bit higher in the US).

- People on MOTL will require a no name seller to send stuff first most of the time - quite the hustle to get started so I wouldn't bother
- Paypal is quite generally a bitch and rules disputes (not just mtg related) in favor of the buyer by default which is why I wouldn't bother with ebay.com either
- MKM is good

- MTGS has a system that is pretty clear and straightforward. I've sold/bought/traded stuff on there quite a few times and never had an issue
- Facebook group has quite turnaround for highly desired or competitively priced items.
- eBay is no hassle no effort sell for a set amount. I've dumped quite a few things on there and just let them sit for 30 days and they sold at some point during that time period.

magiccardmarket is the best for EU. I'd make an account there

I despised MKM when I started. Half a year later I quite like it. It really depends on what he gots, but as long as his collection is not extremely big, it shouldn't be troublesome to sell it through MKM.
