I am surprised everybody seems to have denied life's legacy power.
I think the card could be really sweet with in either RUG tempo or affinity.
I post a new thread with life's legacy ; life's legacy+kiln fiend+an other spell is a draw four with an other cantrip it's a draw seven.
I think there is a great potential. It would need lot of testing to see if this is better than classibuilds though.
Tell me what you think. No side yet.
I think flusterstorm is better than pierce to protect life's legacy. Two mana spells means wasteland isn't played.

Probe allows to trigger kiln fiend while looking at opponents hand to see if you can combo off.

4 Kiln Fiend
4 Tarmogoyf
4 Delver of Secrets

4 Life's Legacy

4 Ponder
4 Brainstorm

1 Spell Pierce
3 Flusterstorm
3 Lightning Bolt
4 Gitaxian Probe
4 Daze
4 Force of Will

4 Tropical Island
4 Volcanic Island
4 Wooded Foothills
1 Taiga
1 Island
3 Misty Rainforest

EDIT : kiln fiend+life doesn't draw four but just one card

life's legacy+kiln fiend is a draw four with an other cantrip it's a draw seven.
This doesn't actually work. You have to sac the creature as part of the cost of life's legacy, so if life's legacy is the first spell you've cast, kiln fiend will only draw one card.

ok thanks, so I think I should play probe to make it better

If you are going to play Kiln Fiend, protect it and play a couple of cantrips, plus play a third spell, then it might as well be Berserk, because then your opponent will be dead and you don't need to worry about drawing 7 cards.

Berserk doesn't go well with tarmogoyf life's legacy is good with it draw 4 is already a huge advantage. Even a draw three with delver can be not so bad.
And life's legacy doesn't die to removals kiln fiend does if you play berserk and you get your kiln fiend decay you can't do nothing about it while you ll still draw cards whith life's legacy.

So you are going to sacrifice your Tarmogoyf and use 1 card in hand to draw 4 cards, and then what? Play another Tarmogoyf?
I am not saying that the card doesn't have potential, but I don't think you have found the right shell for it.

I'd want to try to "new" Lorescale Coatl instead of Kiln Fiend.

Of course, it'll probably be a disappointment like the Coatl was .... but still I want to try it.

^This.

I dont see this as any upgrade to delver. 12 creatures is already pushing it and I wouldn't want to throw one away and brick on the draw. Even if you do draw a threat, you are probably tapped out and need to pass the turn. This is all assuming you have at least 3 lands out to make fiend at all profitable, but at that point you are drawing the cards you put into him. Sacing a flipped delver is a horrible loss of tempo you are trying gain and it would be a shame to have your drawn threat now countered. Anyway, I would like to see some burn in here to go to the face or clear a path for fiend. Like foreal even lava dart looks insane. Fling?

This would work perfectly for creatures you want to die or that are not long for this world. A shame balllightning and groundbreaker combo is too much mana...

But still drawing 3 off of spark/hellspark isn't bad. I'd look it as a card that let's you reload mid game in RG sligh. Throw in some reckless charge for late game power and huge draw.

How about we just turn it into a Delver + Storm hybrid?

Creatures - 11
4 Delver of Secrets
3 Nivmagus Elemental
4 Kiln Fiend

Spells - 35
4 Brainstorm
4 Ponder
4 Gitaxian Probe
4 Daze
2 Force of Will
3 Life's Legacy
4 Manamorphose
4 Rite of Flame
4 Lotus Petal
2 Grapeshot

Lands - 14
4 Flooded Strand
4 Scalding Tarn
4 Volcanic Island
2 Tropical Island

Plan A: Play creature, attack for a bunch.
Plan B: Probe into Rite into Manamorphose, etc etc Life's Legacy to draw like 10 cards, repeat until you Grapeshot.

This is a pretty rough list. I think it needs more ritual effects. I'm not really sure how much you can storm up and keep going after you draw like 10 cards.

Just play this card because it sacrifices upon resolution, plus it gains life and you get a 2/1. Requires a much different shell, but is infinitely more sweet

Ziveeman's approach seems more realistic.

I see the Sorcery speed being the biggest liability to Life's Legacy. I suppose if it was Instant-speed, it would be a nice combo with Phyrexian Dreadnought.

Persist and Undying creatures are a bit underpowered on their own, but maybe this could boost a Melira deck with or without Birthing Pod. I doubt the Zombies/Vengevine deck wants to sac a plant monster to draw cards, but that's another deck that could shrug off the drawback of losing a creature.

I don't know where this card goes. Maybe in Nic Fit when you dump out a Thragtusk? Oh, Nic Fit, you are the new Stax.

Only things worth dumping to it are like you said, borderline bad Persist/Undying men. Sacrificing a finks is kinda alright. Draw 3 and still keep a man while gaining life? Just seems like you are jumping through hoops, and anytime that this could draw an insane amount of cards, why not just keep around that fat creature?

I have tested the card in some decks from RUG tempo to RG blast with pumps effect to poison to affinity.
The card is only good in affinity which can trade his creatures away, though affinity is not a good deck in legacy.

Sorceryspeed makes it hard to justify. Two mana more gets you Natural Order. Natural Order wins you the game (Or should when you cast it). Imagine drawing a couple of these but no creatures worthy of sacrificing.
I don't think you want to be sacrificing flipped delvers and goyfs tbh.

Affinity is chromatic, right? Seems like Cranial Plating powers the life's legacy fine, since you don't actually lose the power attached. Just a generic robot idiot.

What about Immolating Souleater + Life's Legacy? You could power out in sorta' a belcher list.. but then again if you're using fast mana and cantrips why you wouldn't just ad nauseum, belcher or past in flames anyways, I ahve no idea?

I dunno, this whole combo just feels fishy to me. I remember a friend a long time ago used that Wall + card that gives it like +13/+0, then fling, this card reminds me so much of those Fling decks... the only problem is I almost respect a Fling deck more 'cause it's a 3 card combo that's guaranteed to hit & possibly win if it goes through, with Life's Legacy even if you draw a bunch of cards off it there's no assurance you're going to even win.

Any way I look at it though, this card just screams EDH where it'd be very solid, in Legacy people just want to kill fast, which is why nobody gives a crap about Diamond Valley in Legacy but in EDH it's boss.
