I actually sleeved up that first list yesterday. I was looking for decks with Grim Lavamancer and Standstill, and found that one incorrectly labeled as "UR Burn" on TCdecks.
I like the approach, and I am going to try it at my LGS.
Two worries that I have: 12 blue sources seems low, I am worried about getting blue in my starting hand consistently. That, and the deck seems soft to Chalice @1 with no answer other than FoW between main and SB, so I might sb a single Hurkyls Recall or something to that end.

A suggestion for you: With all the Brainstorm talk going on in town, we need to develop a functional Brainstorm hate deck. Something with 7-8 hate pieces that are guaranteed to punish cantrips hard while still being competitive in general. Thalia doesn't cut it, maybe Chalice + Spirit of the Labyrinth, or 4 Eidolon + 3-4 Spirit of the Labyrinth in an Rw burn deck?
