My favourite thing is foil Zendikar lands. GURU are good, foil Unhinged are great, but IMO, the best ones are the foil full-art ZEN lands.

I've got unglued right now. Also like Korean and beta. I wanted some full art though and unglued is my favorite version of that. I may try to pick up sine Russian zendikar at some point if I can find any reasonable deals

- the sunflower plains
- the island with the ship in the distance
- any of the swamps, all are great
- mount Fuji

I got a problem. I somehow need a modern-framed basic Forests (in case I'd build a modern-framed monogreen EDH) and I simply can't settle on a nice picture. I'd go as far as to use M10 reprint of Avon's Forest from Invasion, but that would suck, I play it everywhere and that's not funny.
I like some of the SHM lands art, it's so dark, but then again I want to play woods with trees, not bayous with stumps.

So far I'm thinking of CSP precon reprints of Ice Age lands.

Hm. That's more about art then pimp, right?

Yeah, the Ice Age Arena foils aren't the same. The Arabian Nights Mountain is one of my other favourites. I don't play white or black very much so I can't speak of those...

Valuewise, it's Summer with Guru lands being a much easier and cheaper 2nd place. I think.

I use Zendikar full arts for my cube and these John Avon arts for my constructed decks, despite having Unhinged, Unglued and various Arena basics in my collection. :tongue:

I think that the basic lands have to represent the idea behind your deck. Zoo would have forests, jungle and volcanic mountains with a jungle of all sorts of trees growing on the slopes to provide cover for the creatures living in these forests that no man dares to explore. (before the printing of 3/2 flying guy who shits all over the jungle when flying over it) Storm decks have to have grim lands, the swamps and islands should make you remember the truly wise words of Sherlock Holmes and dear Watson:

For Death and Taxes I see an ancient city by the sea. Glorious old days from the golden age of this great city once called Rishada are long gone and these days nobody knows how they manage to survive in these barren lands, but they just keep on going while all the towns and cities near it are dying when the curse of this city reaches them and drags them down to the brink of destruction. With this image in mind, I've come to conclusion that these (http://magiccards.info/tp/en/325.html) plains are the best to supplement the suffering and what's going to happen to the lands of the person who dares to oppose this mighty city of evil. ;)

Frankly, I cannot understand why they removed the "tap to add" line. Yeah, I know the "it's part of the rules that Mountain gives red", but what? They give explanation text to every ability, so what's the reason to not have the "tap: add xyz..." on the card so that the card has written on it what it does, like they always blather; also something something mana burn removal...

I only use 2 basics: one Island and a Swamp. Both are unhinged, unfoil and signed by Avon @ Pro Tour Berlin 2008. They work perfectly fine for me.

Give me 4th edition Korean! If I don't have enough lands of the particular type I'll fallback to 4th edition Japanese and then to 4th edition Chinese.

Depends. For WURB I just have a pile of assorted Euro/APACs I use. For forests, it depends how many I need.

1: Signed APAC Korea
2: Signed Korean 4th
3-5: Euro Germany
6+: Who plays decks with more than 6 forests?

For standard, I usually just go land box, since I don't have 20 sweet matching islands or swamps.

I was lucky to obtain Guru land set when the price was around 200 dollars... Since I play monoblue EDH - one blue and one black its nothing much to pimp up... But single island for 400$ well XD...

I also have set of foil and nonfoil unhinged basic lands...

But rather than pimping up the deck I picked basic lands with art which was looking well in my opinion.

I'm all about APAC with the arts depicting Japan. I'm not ballin' out of control though, so I don't have more than one Sunflower Plains or Mt. Fuji--the only reason I haven't considered jumping on the Burn train for at least one event is that I don't want to drop a lot of money on getting ten more copies of Mt. Fuji.

Yeah, that one is lovely. Among my favorite Plains.
(The rest are Guay Great Wall and all of the Nielsen Tempest ones. Can't go wrong with the Roberts Arena promo either.)
